"It's my kid, Turner, and she already has her own blade. She's good at this stuff." You stressed. "I can go with her if you're not going to let her come."
Opening his mouth, Turner sighed. "Fine. She can come. No more people. Anyone else we come across we're taking their blades."
Sora frowned. "What about Lloyd?"
You turned to him, raising a brow. "Yeah, what about Lloyd?"
Griffin groaned. "Fine. If we find him, he can come too."
"What about Cole, or Zane, or Nya, or WyldFyre?" She pointed out.
You swear you saw his eye twitch.
Throwing his hands up, he sighed. "How many people do you have on your team?!"
With a shrug, you started counting on your fingers. "Kai is kinda stuck right now.. Cole, Nya, Zane, WyldFyre, Geo, Euphrasia, Lloyd, Sora, Arin.. though he's not an Elemental Master, Riyu is a dragon.. but still a part of our team, and myself. We also have Mr Frohicky at the Monastery, and-"
"It was rhetorical, I don't actually care." He rolled his eyes, before smiling and patting your shoulder. "Kidding! But seriously, c'mon, we gotta get close to the center. No more strays."
Walking behind him, you rubbed Sora's shoulder. "So where'd you get the blade from?"
She clicked her tongue. "It was laying right in front of me. I feel like it's just going to put a target on my back if I'm being honest. Almost feels like.." She frowned.
"Like they want you to be a target." You finished, sighing. "It's probably just how they placed it, a few others might have blades already."
You bumped into Turner's back, with a small 'oof'. "Why'd we stop?"
He nodded ahead. You were finally out of the woods, in a large clearing now.
Oh, and a big wooden pole. Like one of those that the wires on streets would be on. A white blade was stuck to the top.
Halfway up, someone was scaling it like that one scene in Mulan. Euphrasia.
"Give me the blade." Turner told Sora, holding his hand out.
She frowned. "You're going to stab her? She's our friend though."
Groaning, he rubbed his brow. "Right. Because everyone is your friend. I'm not going to stab her, she's using a vine to help pull herself up. Just going to cut that so we can get it instead."
Hesitating for a moment, she sighed, handing the dagger to him.
Before he could grab it, you darted forward, grabbing the hilt. "No. Turner, a fall from that high would injure her- hell, it might kill her."
"Oh my gosh! I can't do anything!" He groaned. Pulling at his hair, he looked like he was about to snap. "Can't you just stop being so nice! I'm trying to get us to the end, Y/n! I'm trying to help you! You're going to get hurt without my protection!"
Staring at him, you shook your head. "I don't need your help, Turner. What do you think I am? I'm not that naive teen anymore."
You pulled Sora behind you, backing up.
"That's not- I know you can fight. But not this time. Y/n, this time you're going to need my help! I can save you! Come on, we can win this together!" He grinned, shaking his head.
Taking another step back, you glanced around. "..What happened to you? What is this- I don't need your help. Who are you?" You waved behind you. "Sora. Run."
