Glancing over to the large pole, you weren't surprised to see Euphrasia and the blade gone. She probably heard the fighting and ran before getting herself involved.
You looked out into the clearing. At the center was a large white podium, steps spiralling to the top. That must be where the blades went.
On the side of the clearing, WyldFyre broke through the trees, pulling Geo and a hat and glasses (Mr. Pale, you assumed) behind her. Squinting, you could see her holding up a dagger triumphantly.
And an angry party chasing after the trio ran into the clearing behind them. Fun. No one you recognized though.
But if they all had blades, it'd make more sense for Sora to turn hers in with. WyldFyre would probably kill for her. And Geo trusted you with his kids, so you'd trust him with yours.
"Sora." You started, turning to her. "Go run over to WyldFyre. Get your blade in, the longer you're out with it the higher chance someone will try to get it."
She bit her lip, thinking for a moment, and nodded. Good. You didn't have more than a moment.
Your chin dug into your chest as you got hit in the back of the head, stumbling forward. Ow. Couldn't Lloyd get beat up for once?
Behind you, a green Merlopian had his fists raised. Damn he was quiet.
Lloyd shoved him forward into a tree, away from you both. "Sora, get out of here!" He shouted, ducking under a punch.
Hesitating, she didn't immediately run, but after the Merlopian had spotted the dagger, she started sprinting to the others.
"The Dragon Symbol! Get the symbol!" You shouted at Lloyd, hesitating as more people came through the woods behind him.
"10 Blades of Beckoning have been returned!"
Shut up Roby!
A man in a wheelchair approached from one side, and a girl with purple goggles on the other side.
And she had a blade.
You wanted it.
Before they could move on you, you pounced for the girl, tackling her to the floor. Of course, she was trained and knew how to fight, but you were better. And you both knew it.
She held the dagger to your neck, trying to roll over, but you kept her pinned down. Digging your nails into her fingers, you pried them apart with little effort.
Taking the dagger, you tugged at her belt, hands wrapping around the dragon symbol.
But you were yanked up, and thrown away by the guy in the wheelchair. Landing on your feet, you ran back, punching the guy's face.
But he blocked, not even wincing at the blow to his arms. It made sense his arms were strong after all.
The girl at this point also had brought a fist to your face, just barely missing your cheek. Her ring cut your ear though. Ow.
Kicking her hip with your heel, you turned to the guy, avoiding a hit to the side.
"Fall back!" The Merlopian shouted, running into the woods.
Of course, the people fighting you hesitated, but followed reluctantly.
But you weren't going to let them leave. You wanted that blade.
Bolting after them, you barely gave a glance to Lloyd, hurrying through the wood.
You didn't need words to convey what you wanted, they already knew. Throwing your weight forward, you clawed at her hand, wrestling the dagger out of her grip.
