If you were the last vampire on earth... it would be enough. Just you and me. Me and you. YOU AND ME!
"You, my love, are beauty itself"
OR
The retailing of Lestats life told by the closest person to the man himself- the only vampire on earth who kn...
"Welcome to the théâtre des Vampires" he spoke in a loud voice "you're arrival has been much awaited" he said
I was transfixed on the performance he was putting on for the two of us even if seeing the man command the stage brought a strange flicker of anger... I hadn't seen a show in such a long time and I missed it dearly.
"Now I wonder...
🎶Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome! Fremde, etranger, stranger. Gluklich zu sehen, je suis enchante, Happy to see you, bleibe, reste, stay.🎶
Do any of you know German?"
He spoke as the music hummed behind him and dipped when he stopped singing
"We do not" Lestat said "Though I suspect you do not wish for us to join your song anyway" he spoke loudly for the man to hear
The man smiled as he span around on the stage
Instead of answering Lestat he continued performing
" 🎶 Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome Im Cabaret, au Cabaret, to Cabaret🎶
Ahhhhh Welcome!!!! The theatre of vampires welcomes Lestat de Lioncourt back to his true home- the land of entertainment!" The man finished as the lights went up
I squinted at the new technology, remember how I used to have to light the candles at the start of each show I performed.
The man laughed as he stepped down the stairs and exited the stage. He walked over to us as he walked down the aisle of the theatre
"How did you like it? I'm working on a new production- I'm going to call it cabaret... it's going to be about homosexuals... anyway" he left the notion hanging in the air as he held his hand out to Lestat first.
"Mr Lioncourt it is a pleasure to be in your company" he said "the theatre of vampires has been looking forward to your return for quite a few century's" he spoke as he let go of Lestats hand "and who might you be?" He asked as he moved his attention over to me
I took notice of the way his attention never left Lestat even as he spoke to me and I realised how he was waiting for Lestat to introduce me.
"My name is Victoria Archambeau and I am Lestats wife" I spoke flatly and with little enthusiasm at meeting the man.
He looked between the two of us before he bent down and kissed my engagement ring in respect.
"A pleasure miss Lioncourt" he said with something else behind his words I couldn't place.
I raised my eyebrow but smiled him nevertheless
"We are to be married soon..." Lestat wavered on the man's name realising he had not given it
"Santiago" he said as he nodded at Lestat
"Santiago" Lestat confirmed "and I wish for it to be here, in my theatre"
I listened yet I didn't interrupt as the two spoke.
I looked around the room with wide eyes as I couldn't recall the last time I was inside a theatre as grand as this one.
"On stage?" Santiago asked in intrigue and that captured my attention "what a brilliant idea Mr Lioncourt" he spoke in a sickly sweet tone.
"We are to get married on stage?" I asked the two of them
Lestat looked at me with a look of love
"Yes, my love, I want nothing more then for us to entertain while we commit to each other- it will be our first play together... the play of our lives beginning as one" he spoke
I wavered but smiled at him
"When will this happen?" I asked as I turned to Santiago "don't we need to stop Louis and Claudia first?" I asked
"We could produce the scrips by tomorrow... it could include a wedding and trail in one- the details can be sorted out later, but the acting might need a few days to be rehearsed" he muttered "but either way you two shall be married by the end of the week" he confirmed
Lestat smiled as he looked at me and I nodded, wanting to get married but worried about Louis and Claudia turning our wedding into a court hearing.
