The Maze (Newt X Reader) Book 1 - complete

Me and Newt walked out of the homestead and to the bonfire that had just started. On the way there we walked so close together that we bumped shoulders many times, and every time we did I felt electricity bolt through my arm. 'What is this feeling I have?' I thought to myself, 'I wonder if he feels the same way.'

Anyway, we find an empty spot by the fire and sat down. As soon as we sit down Chuck and Minho come and sit with us, Minho is holding a jar with a brownish liquid in it. He must have seen me looking at it because he said, "Here greenie try it."

I take the jar and swirl the liquid around in it before asking, "What is it?"

"Just try it." Chuck said. I smell the liquid first, it smells awful, then I take a drink of it and... It's horrible, but I don't dare spit it out. I swallow it and make a disgusted face before handing the jar back to Minho and saying, "That's horrible."

The boys bust out laughing and Newt says, "I'm impressed, most greenies spit it out."

"Yeah I'm shocked you actually swallowed it." Minho said to me. "Me too." Chuck added. I'm still curious about what the horrible tasting brown liquid is, so I asked no one in particular, "So what is it?" "We have no idea, Gallys secret recipe." Newt said taking a drink of 'Gallys secret recipe'.

*later that night*

Me, Newt, Minho, and Chuck are walking over to where the other boys are fighting, apparently it's a game. When we get over there Gally is fighting with some boy I don't know, and Gally wins in a matter of seconds. Gally spots me and says, "Now would usually be the time I would ask the greenie for a fight, but since greenie's a girl I guess I can't, wouldn't wanna hurt her or anything."

This pissed me off, and before I caught myself I started talking. "Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't fight." I said to him crossing my arms over my chest and raising an eyebrow at him. Speaking of eyebrows I just noticed his. 'What is up with this kids eyebrows? Well I know what his nicknames gonna be.'

"Okay you wanna fight, let's fight greenie." I go to take a step forward when I feel someone grab my shoulder, I turn around and see its Newt. "You sure about this greenie?" He asked with a look of concern. "I'm sure, don't worry I'll win." I say winking at him. He lets go of my shoulder and I step into the circle and Gally begins to speak, "Rules are simple green-" "My name is (Y/N)." "Fine, (Y/N). Rules are we try to push each other out of the circle, and you try to last more than five seconds."

Some of the gladers laughed at what he said, but I didn't, I was determined to win. We started walking in a circle and I was watching him very carefully, waiting for him to make his move. I seen his hand go up and I moved just in time to dodge it, he swung and it went right by my face, a couple inches closer and that would've hurt. I seen my chance and took it, I kicked him out from under his feet and he landed with a 'thud'. Then I tried to kick him in the stomach but he caught me foot and tripped me making me fall to the ground with him. But as soon as he got up I did too, and I went to punch him but he caught my hand and twisted it behind my back. He was hurting my arm really bad so I had to think of something quick. I took the heel of my foot and kicked him in the shin as hard as I could, he immediately let me go and I quickly turned around and punched him in the chest knocking him out of breath. I took the opportunity and pushed him as hard as could out of the circle. 'I actually won.' I thought to myself shocked. Gally got up, gave me look of death and said, "You'll pay for that." Then stormed off.

The other gladers were gathered around me congratulating me on my victory. I tore away from the group of gladers and found Newt, Minho, and Chuck all looking at me with shocked expressions. "Not bad for a girl huh?" I said to them and we all just laughed. Minho came up to me and slapped me on the arm that Gally just had. "Ow! Careful Minhoe that's the arm Gally had." I said to him rubbing  my arm.

"Oh, sorry (Y/N)." Minho apologized. Then Newt gently took my arm and said, "Did he hurt you that bad?" "It's just a little sore, should be fine by morning." I said giving him a reassuring smile. Then I heard Chuck yell, "Who wants to play a game?!" "Me." Newt replied. "Why not I'm in." Minho added. "Sure, what game?" I asked. Chuck rested his chin on his fist like he was thinking, then his face lit up when he said, "Truth or Dare."

A/N: So I'm sure most of you appreciate me actually spacing my paragraphs. I finally realized it's much easier to read.
