The Maze (Newt X Reader) Book 1 - complete

NEWTS P.O.V:

It's 5:25 in the morning and I'm laying next to (Y/N) watching her sleep. I know that sounds creepy, but she's just so beautiful I can't help it. I always wake up before her, it's usually never too long before she has to get up at 5:30. I glance at my watch and see it's 5:28, I decide to go ahead and wake her up.

I plant kisses all over her face avoiding her lips. She finally wakes up and smiles at me. "Morning Newtie."
"Morning beautiful." I say and kiss her gently on the lips. "Time to get up." We both get up and get ready then head to breakfast. We sit with the rest of the runners and eat and chat a little bit. There's usually not much talk in the morning because they have to hurry before the doors open.

I'm currently walking to the doors because the rest have went to get their packs. I'm lost in my thoughts when I fell a tap on my shoulder, I turn to see its Minho. "Hey Newt, so I see you finally asked (Y/N) to be your girlfriend."
"Yeah, and I'm glad I did."
"You're a lucky shank ya know."
"I most definitely am. I know I can't remember any other girl, but I just know she's perfect."
"Yes she is. Better be careful, someone else might want her too."
"Huh?" What the hell does that mean? I was about to ask when (Y/N) walked up. "Hey guys!" She says then gives me a hug. While she's still hugging me I look up at Minho and see him wink at me then walk away. Then it finally clicks... MINHO LIKES (Y/N)! There is no way I am letting that happen.

She pulls away when the doors start to open. "Be careful and come back to me." I whisper and kiss the top of her head.
"Always am, see ya at dinner!" She yells before running into the maze. I watch her retreating figure until it disappears. I can't stop thinking about what Minho said, what if he takes her away from me? I decided to just watch how they both act before I say anything. Working will help get it off my mind, and greenie's working with me today, so I go find Thomas and head to the gardens.
