Running Out of Time {Barry Allen/The Flash}

"Bye, guys. I'll stay in touch, but I think it's best if you leave." I say to Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity. "I have some personal business." I mumble. The whole table stands up, including Barry.

"I'll walk Oliver out." Barry says almost in an asking tone.

"Yeah, you do that." I say.

*BARRY'S P.O.V.*

I send a weird look to Oliver before we walk out.

"Who's that kid?" He asks me.

"No clue, but I can tell Katheryn and him are friends." I say, almost shrugging.

"You need to tell her." Oliver says back to me. "Especially before she gets close to 'Johnny' again." He says.

"I know, thank you, Oliver." I mumble. "Get home safe."

"I will, Barry." He says before walking away with Diggle, and Felicity.

*KATHERYN'S P.O.V.*

I sit down with Johnny at the table. "Why is this man after you?" I ask as Barry walks back in. He glances at me before sitting down. "Barry Allen, this is Johnathan Friche." I say introducing them. They shake hands before looking back at me.

"You two... together?" Johnny asks, gesturing to Barry and I. I choke on my coffee and look over to Barry.

"No, no. We're... co-workers." I say and Barry nods. A blush creeps onto my face and I have to look away. "Anyways, why is this man after you?"

"Is it okay if Barry hears this?" Johnny asks.

"Oh my- yes! Now tell me!" I say, laughing. "Barry is cool, you can tell him too."

"Okay... I was- i was involved in a weapons trade, and-" Johnny starts but I cut him off.

"Weapons trade?!" I yell out, and both Johnny and Barry shush me. "What were you thinking?" I whisper-yell.

"I wasn't thinking." He says shamefully. "I wasn't thinking, and that's why I need your help." He says.

"Why did you come to me?" I ask.

"You're the only person I can trust." He whispers.

"Well, you came to the right people. Now, come with us." I say, before walking out of Jitters.

I walk into STAR Labs with Barry and Johnny following me. Wells strolls in with an angered look on his face.

"What did I say about letting people in here?" He asks.

"You said not to, but I have to." I say to Wells. Soon, Caitlin and Cisco walk out.

"What's this?" Caitlin asks.

"I didn't know we let people walk in here, but whatever. I'm Cisco and you are?"

"Johnathan, Katheryn's friend." Johnny says and I smile before it quickly disappears.

"A man is after him." I say to Wells. "And 'we' need to help him." I say aloud.

"Why is a man after you?" Wells asks Johnny.

"I was in a weapons trade, and I traded a custom made pistol for a really nice sword." He says.

"You were in a weapons trade?!" Cisco yells out.

"I said the same thing." I mumble.

"And we're going to help him." Barry says. I look over at Barry and he sends a smile my way. Butterflies fill my stomach before I smile back. I sit in silence for a while, looking at Johnny.

"Katheryn, can I talk to you?" Barry asks. My head snaps in his direction before I answer.

"Yeah." I reply. We walk down the hallway, and he abruptly stops, and I almost crash into him. "What's up?" I ask.

"I don't want this to- affect what we do. Us saving people. But Katheryn- what I'm trying to say is- is that I like you. I like you, and more than in a friend way. And, it's fine if you don't-" He says and a smile creeps onto my face as I cut him off.

"Shut up, Barry." I say. "I- I like you too, and I have for a while. Did Oliver set you up to this?" I smile, and he smiles back.

"Yeah, he said to take the shot and tell you my feelings, and my feeling is that I like you." He says. "Well, lets go help your friend." He says, before walking off. A smile still sits on my face, and I notice Barry's hasn't vanished either.

"God, what a dork." I whisper to myself. "This is going to be fun." I smile before walking back out to the group.
