It’s been almost 3 weeks since I last saw Annabeth. I miss her so much. We’ve Iris Messaged a few times but she hasn’t been able to call me for the past few days.
“Maybe, she’s just too tired” I told myself.
As for Ella, I haven’t talked to her since the day Annabeth left but I had forgiven Calliste since Juniper’s been telling me how sweet and thoughtful she is.
While I was walking I saw that everyone was going to the Big House. I saw Grover passing by so I asked him why.
“Hey G-Man! What’s going on the Big House?”
“Juniper told me that Chiron has an announcement about Olympus.”
“I hope its good news.”
“So how’s Annabeth?”
“Oh she’s fine. She keeps on asking what kind of tiles she should use for the temples and other things but she stopped Iris Messaging me a few days ago.”
“Oh, maybe she’s just busy or maybe she’s just overwhelmed at how huge Olympus is. And we both know that she always wanted to redesign Olympus.”
We went walked inside the Big House. Almost everyone was sitting down. I spotted Nico who was laughing with Calliste. My face broke into a smile. I rarely saw Nico smile or laugh after Bianca died.
“Hi Nico!” I greeted him
“Hello, so do you know why Chiron brought us all here?”
“Grover told me it’s something about Olympus though we’re all not sure.”
Chiron cleared his throat. He was going to start his speech when a green flame entered the room. It didn’t burn anything but some of the campers started panicking. Gradually the flame formed into Hades.
Nico stepped forward.
“Father….” He said. From the looks of it he was shocked that his father was in camp. He and his father don’t exactly have the typical father to son relationship.
“Nico, I want you and your friends to do me a little favor.” Hades said “I want you to go on a quest to find Persephone. It’s her time to stay in the Underworld. I asked Demeter about her but she hasn’t seen her too.”
“Is that all father?”
“Yes, and I expect her to be back in the Underworld in a month.”
Then Hades turned to Chiron.
“I want my son to lead this quest.”
“As you wish, Lord Hades.”
After that the flames disappeared. Everyone started to calm down and then Chiron started his speech.
"As Lord Hades had said Persephone has been abducted and needs to be found. Annabeth has been missing for days too. Athena had told me in an Iris Message awhile ago."
"Chiron, I have to come to this quest!" I pleaded
“You must ask Nico since his father wants him to lead this quest.”
I looked at Nico pleadingly.
"Sure, you can come along Percy but Calliste has to come too." Nico said
I heaved a sigh of relief. If Nico didn’t bring me in this quest I’d have to sneak out of camp.
"No way! I'm not coming unless Ella comes with me!" Calliste reasoned “I promised her that I won’t leave her anywhere.”
"I'm coming but you have to pay me." Ella said
I looked at Ella. I don’t want to sound mean or anything but what does she need the money for. Piper told me that she lives with Calliste.
"Fine then" Nico replied and the ground opened and a large diamond appeared.
Then Nico handed it to Ella.
"This is going to be a very dangerous quest. Since all 4 of you are children of the Big Three, monsters could smell your scent from afar." Chiron warned.
"I'm coming too. They need a guardian." Grover said
"Okay then Chiron said I hope you bring all 4 of them back here alive and in one piece."
"Um sure I can do that" Grover said nervously
We were to start the quest tomorrow morning before the campers woke up.
For the whole day Chiron made us practice. Thankfully after hours and hours of practicing the sun had set and it was time for dinner. Nico, Calliste, Ella and I rushed to the Dining Pavilion. We were greeted by the Hunters of Artemis; standing beside them was Tabitha who was talking to Artemis. I saw Thalia and I approached her. She asked me some questions.
"I heard that I have a half sister in camp. How is she?" she asked
"Oh! Calliste she’s new to camp she came here 2 months ago. She looks like the girl version Jason with her blonde hair and her blue eyes. I heard her friend Tabitha wants to join the Hunters." I pointed to the girl with red her talking to Artemis.
"How about Calliste? Does she want to join?" She looked at me eagerly.
"Well it seems like she and Nico are getting really close." I replied. I’ve seen Nico and her in a lot of places lately.
"Oh, well if Nico hurts her he's dead" she replied
“I assure you that won’t happen. Anyways their not dating anyway.”
“So what’s she like?”
“Who, Calliste?”
“Yeah”
“I’ve heard that she’s good with the bow and the arrow. She’s really friendly. Juniper really good friends with her. And she’s pretty much Nico’s only friend.”
We continued to talk about other things.
“So how’s camp?” Thalia asked
“Its fine, I guess. We don’t have any monster attacks anymore. Chiron is planning on adding an arena to the camp. So how’s the Hunters?”
“It’s nice. We pretty much hunt almost everyday. It’s really fun.”
Then we were interrupted by Grover who reminded us to go back to our tables.
"Hey Thalia can I borrow Percy for awhile?"
"Hi Grover! Nice to see you again! Sure you can borrow him." She said
"Yo! Perce you should start eating. We leave camp before 5."
I guess I should go back to my table." I told Thalia
"Yeah! Oh and Good Luck for tomorrow! I hope you guys find Annabeth.” She smiled
