Soon after we killed that golem, we had found our way out to the other side of the forest. We set up a little camp and got ourselves fed. Well, most of us anyway. Blaze was practicing against Tom with his sword. While Blaze would continuously try to stab and slash, Tom would simply dodge his attacks. All the while Tom was lecturing him.
"Come now, boy, you cannot just attack with strength alone. Put some thought into your attacks. Think about where your opponent will go or if they will block or dodge. No not like that. Oh my, I'll just show you how it's done."
With that, Tom ducked under the next slash, grabbed Blaze's arm and pressed one hand on his stomach.
"I'm sorry to do this, but you need to learn somehow."
Tom picked him up and threw him through the air. Blaze landed on his back and stayed there, looking up at the sky. The rest of us laughed at him and continued to eat whatever it was Tom made us. It was some kind of stew, but if you asked me what it was made from I wouldn't have been able to tell you. I grabbed a second bowl and filled it up. I got up and as I turned to leave, Ethan stopped me.
"Where are you going?" He asked me.I answered "Blaze hasn't eaten anything since we stopped. I'm just going to give him this."
"Yeah but why? He wouldn't do the same thing for you. He'd probably just spill it on you to be honest."
"Yeah I know but," I looked over at Blaze, just getting up off the ground. "He's the strongest member on our team, especially now that he has his elemental weapon. We gotta keep him healthy. Plus, I wanna try to get him to like me, or at least not hate me."
Ethan just shrugged and turned back to his soup as I walked over to Blaze. He sat on the ground looking at his sword. I knelt down next to him and offered him the bowl.
"No, thanks. I'm good." He mumbled. He seemed troubled. Was he that beat up over Tom, well, beating him up.
"Oh come on don't be so stubborn. You have to eat if you're going to get stronger."
"I said I'm fine, now shove off."
"No Blaze. You need to eat something. You've been training non stop you must be starving."
As if on cue his stomach rumbled.
"Ha, you can't argue against that. Here, just eat it when you're ready."
I set the bowl on the ground next to him and stood up.
"Hey," he said. He looked down at the ground, then back up at me. " Thanks Dark."
"Eh, don't mention it. It's just some soup."
I walked back over to Ethan and sat down. Soon after Blaze joined all of us. For a moment, it seemed normal. Just a bunch of kids, all in a circle around a fire, laughing, smiling and talking. It was like we were all out camping. Then Tom sat down and I was sucked back into reality.
"Everyone," He started. "You did a good job taking out that monster. I want to congratulate you on that. However, I suspect that Death will somehow know Blaze has acquired his weapon, and he will now deploy his forces to guard the rest of the weapons, assuming he knows where they are. These guardians will be tougher than any normal monster you run into. They would be the top soldiers in Deaths army, and they will stop you at any cost. You will all need to be ready for them, do I make myself clear."
We all nodded. We had to get revenge on what Death did to our planet.
Tom continued, "You all need to start training right now. Blaze and Dark team up against Jasmine and Sapphire. Ethan, stay by me and observe how they fight."
