We walked a little away from our camp. Blaze, Jasmine, Sapphire and I went to opposite ends of the training ground we made. Tom walked over to Blaze and I. He handed Blaze a sword and me two. The swords were wooden, so they wouldn't hurt the girls. He then walked over to the girls and talked to them. He nodded in what looked to be understanding.
"Alright. Blaze and Dark will be using swords, while Jasmine and Sapphire will rely on their elemental attacks. Ethan lets stand back."
As Tom and Ethan stepped back, I looked at Sapphire and Jasmine. I was going to wait until one of them made a move, but it seemed Blaze had a different strategy. He rushed right in and was trying to use pure force to overpower Jasmine and Sapphire. The girls just looked at eachother and smirked. Sapphire stuck out her palm and created a mini cyclone and Jasmine made water erupt from the ground and pour into it so that now it became a whirlpool. Blaze's eyes widened and he tried to run but it was too late, he was caught in the pull of the wind and he was helpless as it thrashed him around, with the water making sure he couldn't escape. Eventually he landed back on the ground in front of me, and his sword quickly followed landing beside him.
"Well how'd that work out for ya?" I snickered.
He just glared at me, spit out water and got back up.
So far the girls just stood there, not making a move unless they had to. Then I noticed Sapphire was making odd gestures with her fingers and I realized what she was doing.
"Blaze jump now!"
He didn't argue as we both jumped into the air, narrowly missing the giant root that came out from underneath us.
"I've got you now!" I heard Sapphire shout.
I saw a ball of wind quickly shooting towards me. I quickly crossed my swords and tried to block it. The force was so great, however, that it sent me flying straight into the ground. When I landed I made a small indent in the ground and a dust cloud start to form.
Tom shouted, "Keep it up everyone. As Elementalists, your bodies have become more resistant. You'll find that you aren't as easily hurt by things such as sword strikes, or as you have just seen, high falls."As Tom said this I found his words to be true. I got back up, a little sore, but other than that I felt fine. I shook my head and, picking up my swords, charged back into the battle.
Blaze was busy dealing with Sapphire, continuously trying to get close but being stopped by trees that sprouted from the ground blocking his way. I turned my attention to Jasmine, who saw me coming and grinned. She sent a shard of ice my way but I threw my blade up and smashed it. Feeling a new burst of energy, I began to run faster. It looked like Jasmine panicked and I took the moment to attack. I stopped right in front of her, and taking both my swords, swung them like a baseball bat slamming one into her ribs and the other into the side of her head. She stumbled and I pressed on. I jumped and kicked her in the chest, then slammed my fist into her jaw. She tried to push me back with water but I crashed through and made two slashes downward at her shoulders. She fell to the ground and I stabbed at her, but she rolled out of the way. As she tried to get up I quickly jumped forward, smashing my knee into her jaw. There was a buzz in my ears but I ignored it. Jasmine grew an ice blade from her arm and stabbed at me, but I deflected it, grabbed her arm and headbutted her. She skidded back a little bit, but not before I could land another strike to her cheek. She was sweating and breathing heavily now, but I felt fine.
I walked towards her, raising my blades, when I was stopped by a kick to the stomach. It hadn't hurt much, just surprised me, but it still made me angry. I reeled around to see Ethan, his real, curved sword in hand, staring at me. His mouth moved but I couldn't hear any words. Was he mocking me?
My legs seemed to move on their own as I walked towards him. What was he doing, I was just trying to train and make myself stronger. I swiped at him with both swords but he rolled out of the way and kicked my legs, knocking me down.
I went to get back up but found that I couldn't move my arms or legs. I looked and saw that Blaze had used the earth to keep me locked on the ground. I struggled to get free but no matter what I did I couldn't get back up.
"Dark," Ethan started. "What are you doing? Training is over you need to stop. Look at what you did to Jasmine."
I looked over at Jasmine and saw that she was on one knee, scratched up, bruised and bleeding. She looked at me and I saw nothing but pure fear in her eyes. Did I really do that? I thought. I hadn't even noticed. I- I was ashamed. I didn't mean to do it, I thought I was only training. Ethan seemed to notice my expression soften, and he motioned for Blaze to let me up. I felt my rocky restraints vanish and, rubbing my wrists, I got back up. Blaze came over to try and talk to me but I walked passed him and over to Jasmine, who was not sitting on a log. Tom had given her water to drink but when she saw me coming towards her she set it down and stood up.
"Jasmine-" I started, but she interrupted me.
"Please, don't Dark," She said shakily. "I know that it was just training, but you went way too far. It was like you were going to kill me. Yes, they were just wooden, and yes as Elementalists we aren't hurt as easy as normal, but still, you really could've killed me."
"Jasmine no, I wouldn't dream of hurting any of you, much less killing you."
"You say that, but look at me. If I'm being honest Dark, I don't know if it was even you attacking me."
I was puzzled, "What do you mean?"
She looked around before meeting my gaze again, "Dark, it wasn't you. You were smiling like you were enjoying it, and you- your eyes. They were pure black and filled with nothing but anger, rage and madness. Something is very wrong with you. You're dangerous to all of us."
I couldn't believe what she was saying. I was dangerous? I felt sad, angry and confused all at once. You realize she's only saying this because she's scared don't you. All of them are scared of you, because they don't know how much power you possess. A voice whispered in the back of my mind. What was going on. It was like we became closer after the golem, and now I ruined it. Shaking my head, I grabbed my two real swords and ran. I didn't know where I was going but I didn't care. I just had to be alone, away from everyone else. I heard everyone calling after me. Everyone, strangely, but Sapphire.*I wrote some of this on my tablet and some of it on my laptop, so if it comes out weird for some reason that is probably the reason. Hope you all enjoy this chapter :)*
