Chapter Nineteen:

As soon as we walked inside, two people came up to us and shoved all five of us to separate dressing rooms.

I was pried from the guys and left on my own with a lady who was looking me up and down.

"You really plan on going on national television dressed like that?"

I looked down at my outfit and pulled at my shirt, "Uh yeah?"

"Oh my, darling no. You'll have to be much more presentable for Jimmy Fallon," she shook her head and walked over to a rack full of different dresses. "Now what is your style. Oh wait never mind this is perfect!"

. . .

"You look gorgeous!"

"I look stupid," I grumbled looking at myself in the mirror.

I was garbed in a dress that the lady called a mullet dress and it looked funny on me. I hardly ever wear dresses and I would prefer not to be wearing one now.

She also put me in some ridiculous heels that I could break my ankles in, even with the crutches supporting me.

"Are you trying to make my fracture into an actual break with the damned heels?" I groaned, looking at her.

"It's all part of making you look even more beautiful. And tall. Being tall is key," she clapped her hands.

"I'm tall enough as is. I think I'm fine without these creatures of the devil."

"Do you want me to change your makeup as well?"

My eyes widened and I shook my head.

"Well then, hurry up and get out there."

I nodded my head and rushed as quickly as I could out of the room with my crutches.

I sighed and walked over to a wall where I could try to raise my crutches up to match my new height.

"Hey Dani-- oh wow,"

I looked up and saw the four boys walking toward me.

"What did they do to you?" Luke asked, lifting up a piece of my freshly curled hair.

"Your dress looks like a mullet," Michael laughed and lifted up a piece of the fabric from the back.

I rolled my eyes and slapped their hands away, "Michael what is it with you and touching things you shouldn't?"

"But Luke was doing it too!" Michael whined and pointed at Luke whose eyes went wide.

"I don't care. You've done it more than the penguin has!" I crossed my airs as Luke cheered.

"We better get going," Ashton commented looking at his watch.

Luke and Ashton walked off and a pouty Michael followed after them, leaving just me and Calum.

"Look great you," Calum stuttered out signaling at my dress.

"What?"

Calum's eyes went wide as his cheeks flushed red and he stammered again, "I um-- that's not what I meant! What-- um! I--"

"I know what you meant. Now come on you big noob," I laughed and poked him with my crutch. "We don't want the boys wondering where we've gone off too."
