Admit it. When you saw 'Acceptance Letter' you automatically thought 'Hogwarts'.

Lisbon's P.O.V.

Jane and I race towards the elevator button, him in the far lead. I grab the railing and jump, landing and rush to smack the button. I turn around to where Jane had his hands on his knees, panting.

"That's not fair, you can't just jump over the railing!" He protests.

"I just did, I beat you fair and square. You owe me lunch," I declare.

"That was never the deal, but taking you to lunch, how can I refuse?" He smiles, brushing his hair out of his eyes,

"That's not at all what I meant.." I exclaim. The elevators open, and we slip in. By the time we enter the van, we're still arguing, but Jane is on the point of laughing, and I'm regretting refusing him in the first place.

"So, did you know that Evalyn got into Julliard! The Julliard." I ask.

"No, actually. How did you find out?" He replies.

"She called about two days ago, saying that she remembered something important. She randomly just mentioned the acceptance letter."

"You're changing the subject. I'm taking you out to lunch, right after we question Evalyn!"

"No."

"Lisbon, you're so stubborn. I know you love the idea," He notes.

"That's- fine. You can take me out to lunch after this," I huff.

"Sweet victory!" He happily says. I pull up to the house, and get out, walking next to Jane. I playfully run into him. He shoves me back, laughing. We head up to the door, and I can't stop peeking at the smile dancing across his face.

Still giggling, I knock on the door. only an empty silence follows. I call out, "Hey, Ms. Lossi? Can we ask you some questions?"

"She's not answering." Jane states.

"Well, obviously," I snap. He holds up his hands in defeat. I try to hold back another round of chortling.

"She's probably just not home." I announce. I start to  turn away when I smell something. Blood. I turn to Jane, and the terror crossing his face tells me he smells it, too. I gesture for him to stay behind me, and he shrinks back. I shrink back, too, but only to get enough momentum to break down the down the door. The loud sound of a breaking hinge breaks through the quiet, and I rush into the house, Jane far behind me. I check the kitchen and head to the next room, the stench of blood increasing. "Oh no. Jane come hear!" I yell.

In front of me is the unconscious, possibly dead 2-day-old body of Evalyn Lossi. The sticky, old blood is soaked into the carpet, and it spreads out in a pool around her. There's a bump on her head, and her right leg is a maul of red, ripped up flesh. I push over her body, and start administering CPR. "Call an ambulance, Jane!!" He just stands there frozen. "Jane, this is the second witness, the second girl that's dead because I wasn't there! Help me!!"

"It's my second, too."

"Oh, god, Jane." I think of Charlotte, and how much this must affect him.

I don't have time to comfort him right now, however badly I want to. I look back down, and continue pumping my palms over her heart."Evalyn!! Can you hear me!! Evalyn, wake up! WAKE UP!!"
