Lisbon's P.O.V.
I smack my hand against a brick wall, trying to not scream in frustration. I rest my temple against the chilled brick and look at the scene unfolding in front of my tear-blurred vision. Paramedics are swarming through Evalyn's front lawn. I can't see anything from were I'm standing, not hat they'd let me even get close in the first place. The ambulance containing poor Evalyn pulls out of the driveway, zooming down the street. I see Jane through the mob the cops, and I wipe the wetness from my eyes, and head over.
"Hey." I say, trying to sound calm, but failing miserably. He doesn't answer, just nods. "We better head back to headquarters."
"Don't we have to examine the evidence?" He asks, puzzled.
"Oh. Yeah, duh, what am I thinking?" I mutter. "Come on."
We walk inside, and I stop to call the team, informing them of what happened.
"Agent Van Pelt." Van Pelt responds.
"Evalyn's been attacked, she's in an ambulance on her way o the hospital, but judging by the loss of blood.." I picture her nimble frame lying in the crimson puddle, broken.
"Oh my god!" Van Pelt exclaims.
"Yeah, we're the crime scene now." I hate how my voice trembles. I swallow. "Come here, bring Rigsby, and interrogate the neighbors,"
"Um. Not to be offensive, but isn't Evalyn's house an hour away from the CBI? You could bring me some pictures of the scene, along with anything you've tagged and bagged, which I can get to forensics." She tentatively suggests.
"Oh, duh. I'm sorry, I'm kind of distracted. Thanks," I reply, clearing my head.
"Your welcome, I'd be distracted, too." She comforts.
I hang up, and look around for Jane. No surprise, he's no where to be seen. I head to Evalyn's living room. I glance around, taking up the scene, but I give up quickly, deciding to wait until my heads clear. I turn and leave the room, determined to find another task. I have to be busy right now, I can't allow myself to think, otherwise I'll lose it. Finding Jane would suffice. I peak into the bathroom, then head down the hall to Evalyn's parent's room. Unsuccessful, I head up the stairs, finding a guest bedroom, which was also empty, then I check Evalyn's room.
"I guess you're wrong about finding something in the last place you look, because I swear I checked everywhere for you." I state.
"Did you check the closet? Or the attic? Or her backyard?" Jane questions from where he's lying on the floor.
"No- just...what are you doing?"
"I was checking under her bed."
"For what?"
"Meh." He shrugs, getting up.
"I don't- you know what? Never mind. We've got stuff to do. Check out the scene, talk to the parents, interrogate the neighbors. We need to find out what this is about. It could be associated with her admittance to Julliard, or she was going to give us valuable information." I order.
"It's not a murder yet. Just make sure no one moves anything, rope it off with your magical yellow tape." He suggests.
"Magical yellow tape? Did you read the handbook?" I scoff.
