“Soo.. guys you were gonna give Calliste a gift right? Can I see it?”
“Sure” Annabeth replied. She passed me a blue box.
I examined the box carefully thinking of what sort of gift they would give her. I gave the gift back to Annabeth.
“What’s in it?”
“A shirt that says CALLISTE + NICO = LOVE.”
“Oh I’m sure she’ll love it.” I said “I have to go now. Goodbye”
I left the cabin and shadow travelled.
I landed in dad’s throne room.
“Um lord, sir, dad?” I waved at him to get his attention
“Hades!” I screeched at him
Hopefully he sees me before he pulverizes me
He was about to incinerate me but luckily he saw my face.
“Good to see you here Nico.” He motioned me to sit next to him “Today Zeus allowed me to visit Olympus. But he clearly said that I must bring you with me.”
“What for?” I asked
He didn’t answer my reply instead he grabbed my hand and we slipped into the darkness. Apparently shadow travelling is pretty much a cool thing to do for a child of Hades. But once you shadow travel with him trust me you’re gonna stop shadow travelling for the rest of your demigod life. The only thing you see when you shadow travel with him is darkness and hundreds of gruesome kinds of killing.
We arrived in arrived at the throne room of the gods. Dad immediately sat at his throne while I just stood there awkwardly.
“Hades, there you are.” Zeus said “Where is my nephew?”
“After 100 millennia you finally decided to notice me.” I heard dad mutter. Then he pointed to me.
Zeus flicked his hand and suddenly nectar appeared in front of us. Then a cloud nymph arrived in front of Zeus.
”Do you have the cameras ready?” Zeus asked
“Yes lord” The nymph bowed and disappeared
“This is going to be exciting!!!” Aphrodite gushed
“What’s going to be exciting Aphrodite?” Apollo asked
“Didn’t you hear the news? Nico is going to ask Calliste out today!!”
Styx! I forgot to tell dad about this. I gulped and muttered a prayer.
“Nico how dare you keep this a secret from me!!!” Hades bellowed
“I-I-I was going to tell you.” I stammered
“You don’t need that worthless good for nothing godling!!!” He yelled at me. I looked at Zeus to see if he was going to defend Calliste but he wasn’t there. He probably got lectured my Hera to stop looking at those pretty cloud nymphs.
“Why do you like taking my happiness away from me! She’s probably the only person in the whole camp who isn’t afraid of me!!” I said angrily
“I don’t care if she’s the only person who isn’t afraid of you! You’re supposed to be feared Nico!! For Zeus’ sake she’s the daughter of the Sky god!!!”
“Who do you expect to like dad? Some dead queen in Elysium? Just because you didn’t have a happy ending with my mother doesn’t mean you can destroy mine!!!” I stormed off enraged
I went to the temples to find some air. Dad followed me and grabbed me by the shoulder.
“Don’t you dare walk out on me ever again!!!”
