'So, Amber, this is your room- Oh, wait- I guess this is Lea's room?' I said, confused, as I showed my friend round the house.

'Got here first.' Josh said, grinning at me.

'It's cool- big house, right?' Amber said with a laugh.

'No- actually... Erm... We- We're redecorating! You two will just have to share. Sorry! Josh, did you wanna... tell me something?'

The dark haired boy looked stunned for a minute, and then he nodded quickly.

'Er- yep. The thing. That... thing... Bye! Settle in!'

We hurried out the room.

'Redecorating?' he asked when we were out of earshot, eyebrow raised.

'Panicked. Couldn't think of a better excuse.' I replied, as I searched for my phone in my pocket.

'...You needed an excuse, why?'

I kept patting at my coat, and my jeans, as I replied distractedly to Josh.

'Err... Amber is... This pocket? Nope. Amber is in lo- Yes!' I held the device up triumphantly, only to see Josh looking at me still.

'Oh, Amber likes Lea.' I said casually, pushing past him.

'Oh. Brilliant.' he said bitterly, as he wiped the lipstick off the neck of his t-shirt.

'Absolutely brilliant.
