The hot air of the desert hits you in the face as you and Pearl were making your way towards a spot wich has had extreme tremors, according to Garnet.

Please tell me why she's coming along? We can do this on our own...

Sadly, Tourmaline had forgotten for a second who she was with at the moment and gets a hard facepalm from Jade. Before the two start fighting as per usual though, Pearl actually answers hesitantly.

'Well... we are well aware of that but both Jasper and the other Peridot appearing are a possibility, so you cannot go on missions alone!'

Though before another snoody remark could be made, one of those tremors happened, causing Pearl to fall over and you to wobble, since your absurd amount of feet doesn't really allow you to do so.

Do you think we have to fight a corrupted gem?

That seems most likely. Though aren't you the man with the in-field war intuition?

W-what? I've never heard of such a thing!

You casually raise one of your hands to Pearl, who had moved up ahead already and was worryingly looking your way to signal that you were having an internal conversation. She rolled her eyes and was about to come over until...

Another tremor happened, even stronger then the last one, and with an explosion hard enough to deafen any human, a giant black lizard jumped out of the sand, sending you flying back and seperating you from pearl.

The creature let out a furious roar and with another explosion it was standing behind you, faster then you could blink. It slapped you away with it's tail as it let out another roar.

What the HECK is that?! How can we fight that?!

I don't know, but i'm positive we can defeat it! Nothing can defeat teamwork!

As soon as Jade finished that thought though, another tail slap to the back sent you flying up, and then slammed you down. You felt yourself become weaker with every hit, yet you managed to pull yourself up. Preparing to be smashed into the ground, you suddenly felt your leg muscles pulling together as you jumped up high and landed on the lizards back.

I found it's weakness. It only attacks people in the back.

You felt yourself growing stronger and larger as you held onto the creatures back, so you could hold on while it was trying to kick you off like an angry bull. Suddenly, with another explosion, it ran around with impossible speed, ultimately knocking you off.

You laid on the ground, and could only watch as the lizard raised it's feet to smash you, but it was sent back by a light-flash from Pearl's spear, who had managed to recover from the first explosion.

Whoo! You're simply the best, commander!

WE ALMOST DIED, YOU PIECE OF S#!£, WHY ARE YOU CHEERING?!

With an angry howl, the creature suddenly lunged at Pearl, and managed to hit her, sending her flying.

A collective of four screamed "no!"'s left your mouth as you felt anger slowly drip into your mind. You then felt yourself roll up, and hit the creature in the back, still in your buffed form. The creature basically skidded over the sand like a pebble on a pond.

As you walked over to it's unconcious form, still unsure of how you pulled that move off, thoughts began to softly echo into your mind.

'Take it......'

'We NEED that power....'

'It doesn't need it anymore....why waste it?'

A small haze grew in your mind as you thought about it. With that speed, you could have saved Pearl. With that speed, you could maybe outrun the diamonds. With that speed, Lapis would...
WAIT WHAT?!

You shake your head, and find yourself already bowed over the corrupted gem, your own giving off a sick orange glow. You quickly poof the creature and send it to your house, afraid of what might happen if you were to leave it there and got convinced to fuse with it.

Jasper seems to be growing stronger....

Who cares?! We almost DIED guys! She technically saved us!

Saving someone for own gain is never as good as.....wait....COMMANDER PEARL!

Thanks to jade's comment, you remember Pearl being sent off. You quickly find her, and bring her up to date on what happened, though you all agreed to keep the part about Jasper silent, seeing as how Pearl was still very week from the fight and you didn't want to bother her.

And so, with a congratulations and a promise to try your best again next time, you went back home and slept, exhausted.

Is it true? He isn't dead?! No! I LIVE! and now to wait another two months....just kidding. I'm sorry guys. I had to re-do my year at school, causing the work to pile up as my parents doubled my study time. I'll do my best to have another thingy out tomorrow or in two days. See you guys then.
