Quartet Of Misery {A Steven Universe reader insert}

The day after you had brought Ruby to the gems, you didn't exactly have anything to do, except snuggle up in your bed and let the tired feeling you still had from yesterday drift away. Yet, as fate would have it, someone was still persistent enough to come knocking on your door at 8 AM.

Of course, seeing how early it was, you immediately opened the door, afraid that it would be an emergency. Yet you were greeted by a large woman with black curly hair.

Wrong house.

Don't be so rude! Ahem... is there something we could help you with ma'am?

The woman started to giggle at the word "ma'am", and split up into a laughing Connie and Steven. You quickly realised that you had been talking to Stevonnie, the human-gem fusion the two formed, wich Steven had told you about one day. After clearing up the confusion for Jade and Tourmaline and, you let them in, wondering what they wanted. After a little chat about how Ruby was asjusting to life in the temple and other simple random stuff, Connie finally told you the reason for them being there.

"So, Pearl thinks we should start training as Stevonnie, but... we wanna practice a little bit, so we won't screw up or anything."

"Yeah! It would also be pretty cool. Do you guys wanna help us? Pleaaaase?"

After that, the dreaded puppy eyes were used and you simply couldn't say no, and a little bit later, you were standing on the beach, ready to fight. For the occasion, Stevonnie would only use the shield, and not Roses sword, to avoid complications, Steven had told you, a little bit nervous for some reason.

And so, after Steven and Connie had fused, you gave eachother a respectfull bow, and the battle was on. Stevonnie took a great leap over you, landing on your back, trying to hit you on the head with her shield, yet you immediately let yourself fall on your back, causing her to jump away again as you ran towards the spot that Azurite had estimated she would fall. Yet instead of landing in your arms, Stevonnie managed to.....hover away? You just looked on, surprised, as she then placed herself onto the cliffs and jumped right at you, shield held in front of her.

You then felt power surge trough you as you became larger and softly swatted her aside, carefull not to hurt her, yet she somehow managed to grab hold of your hand, and used it to propel herself into your face, making you back away a little bit. You knew that they were to fast and nimble to hit, and didn't exactly know what to do, until you felt your arms pull together and smashed the ground, causing sand to erupt everywhere, temporarily destabilising Stevonnie, wich gave you the opportunity to shove her back a little bit.

I think Amethyst called it a 'hulk smash'...pretty cool huh?

Just focus on the fight...

Ater recovering from the small blasts of sand, Stevonnie quickly managed to get close to you again, and tried to make you fall down by throwing her shield at your legs. That, however was a mistake as your many other legs held you up firm and strong, giving you the perfect opportunity to shove Stevonnie away again. Yet when you attempted to do so, she immidiately dodged your hand, sat on your back  again, and this time hit you full-on in the back of the head with her shield.

The resulting pain actually made you fall onto some of your knees and lose your breat, and so you stood there, wheezing and using some of your arms to keep yourself from hunching over, and the others to make peace-signs, to ask Stevonnie to stop, wich she did before stepping over to you, before splitting up into Connie and Steven, both with guilty looks on their faces.

"O-oh my god... did we overdo it?! I'm so sorry!"

Connie was freaking out a little bit, afraid they had hurt you to much,whilst Steven was already licking his finger to heal any possible wounds, pretty scared himself.

Whooo! What a workout, huh? I think we ALL ENJOYED IT. But boy, that shield sure packs a punch! You guys are strong!

Agreed! This has all been a very great experience to learn about powers and test our own a little bit.

You yourself ensured the kids you were doing okay whilst silently shushing Tourmaline, making them sigh in relief.

After that, you waved them off as they went inside the temple to go to their training with Pearl, as you yourself were going to bed again. Sadly though, fate had it differently as you were approached by some weirdo with fry-like hair on wheelies, who attempted to take pictures of you as you kept blocking his camera with your hands, whilst rattling on about his blog or whatever.

You were about to let Tourmaline go on a mad rant about how awful humanity was at him, until he said something that you actually thought might be usefull.

"C-come on man! Just let me take this picture! My Canadian blog-rivals have already surpassed my Sneeple story with their "monstermen city"! I need it for my blog....we need to keep Beach City weird man!"

...monstermen city? ....if you would be so kind to tell us about it, one picture wouldn't be that bad, would it not?

Huh? But why do you wanna know about that?

She obviously knows it has something to do with her, you fool!

O-oh...geez, do you have to be so rude? We can't all follow all the time you know...

Quickly shushing them, you posed for a picture for the picture. The weirdo, who introduced himself as Ronaldo, then told you in great detail about an "obviously fake and inferior story" about a small, northern Canadian city wich had basically shut off all connections with the outside world, and that any person who goes there alone never returns.

You thanked him, before going back towards the temple. You needed to ask the gems if there were any warp pads in Canada.
