"He claimed that was the only way to get Ethan back?" Jasmine questioned me.

I nodded and she sighed. She probably felt trapped in the situation we were in. So did I.

"We have to keep going. No point in sitting around worried about it," Tom pointed out. "All of us just have to make sure Death doesn't get a hold of Dark."

 We all nodded in agreement.

 "I wonder..." Jasmine muttered.

"Wonder what?" I asked the girl.

"Well he said that he wants you right? But why? Do you think that his current host is getting weaker?"

I thought for a second, "Maybe not weaker but something like that. He told me that he was in control of the former darkness Elementalist and that's why they could sustain him. But maybe now that the darkness left the body, it's starting to... reject him? It maybe can't hold all of Death's power."

She slowly nodded in understanding. It seemed to make sense. "Maybe that could be the case. It could explain why he is so desperate to get to you."

"Well it's something at least. Should we keep walking?"

 "Yes. Let's go."

We made our way out of the rocky plains and onto a grassy trail. I took a deep breath and noticed that the air seemed so much clearer here. I looked over at my friends who were talking among themselves. Usually I'd be having a conversation with Ethan...

I sighed. I had to stop thinking like that. We would get my friend back and I knew it. Instead I focused on something else.

Looking to my right I saw two wolf creatures nipping and jumping at each other. It looked like they were playing around. For some reason it felt comforting to see two ferocious beasts being so calm and relaxed. I grinned as it reminded me of a couple of normal dogs back on Earth.

Earth... The thought of it made me confused. It was my home, the place I was born. Yet, I felt more attached to this planet than I did Earth. It was where I had met my friends and gotten stronger. Did that mean this was my home now? What even was home? I shook my head. Whatever it was, it didn't stop the fact that I wanted to defeat Death and get revenge for what he did to Earth.

Blaze walked next to me and started up conversation, "Hey, Dark?"

 "Yeah?" I replied.

"Do you... do you ever think about your parents?"

"N-no I don't," that was the truth, I couldn't even remember them. "Do you?"

The boy sighed, "Yeah. A lot actually."

"Well what do you think about?"

"About how much I miss them, and how much I wish they were still alive. Maybe I could have saved them if I had the power I do now."

"Yeah, maybe we all could have... Ahem, er, what were your parents like?" I asked, trying to steer the conversation away from thinking about what we could have done.

"Well my mom was really caring and nice. I, uh, remember that she'd bake the most delicious cookies in the whole world. I'd always eat half of them before she could stop me.

"My dad was a tough guy you know. A real fighter. He'd get into an argument and it would turn into a fist fight. But even though he was quick to put up his fists, he would never raise a hand to mom or me. He only just wanted to protect us. Like I want to protect all of you."

"Wow, you're lucky Blaze. You had a nice family and you get to remember them."

 "You... don't remember yours?"

I shook my head and he gave me a sympathetic look, something that was very rare coming from him.

"I'm sorry Dark. Talking about this must be making you feel pretty bad."

I waved a dismissive hand, "It's fine. No use dwelling on it now right?"

 "I... suppose not."

Blaze looked like he wanted to say more, but didn't know what and chose to stay silent. I guess that he didn't understand it, not remembering your family.

I had no memories of them so I wasn't sure how to feel. Sure, I was sad that they were gone but that was about it. Nothing else. Sighing, I decided to move on like I did with most things that bothered me. I looked around the area and saw something in the distance.

A boy with indistinguishable features was off in the distance fighting a six armed humanoid creature. The boy wielded a black katana and looked to be winning his fight, as his opponent could only block. Then all of a sudden they struck out with all arms at the boy, who didn't move and inch. He snapped his fingers moments before the arms reached him and a lightning bolt shot down from the sky and struck the figure. This let the boy strike out and slash his opponents throat.

He sheathed his sword and, after taking something from the corpse, looked over at me and flashed a thumbs up. He then closed his eyes and another lighting bolt came down and hit him, creating a flash of light around his body.

When the light settled and I could see again, he was no longer standing there, with only smoke ebbing off from the place where he once stood. He had disappeared.

What was that? An Elementalist? Wielding electricity? I thought about telling Tom but held my tongue. There wasn't really any point. The boy was gone now anyway, and if we looked for him it would just take us away from looking for our weapons, which in turn could turn us away form finding Ethan.

"Everyone hold on for a moment," Tom said, and for a moment I thought he knew. "There is a large amount of energy coming from that cave over there," He pointed to a cave that seemed to work its way underground. "The choice is yours, do we go investigate or not?"

We all huddled together and talked among ourselves. It didn't take us long before we came to a decision.

"Yeah, let's go check it out. It could be a weapon or something else powerful." Blaze spoke for us.

"Alright then, let's go." And away we marched, into the damp cave, wondering what the source of energy could be.

Hey everyone I finally uploaded again. School and stuff is getting in the way but that won't stop me. So just some news on The Wandering Mage, which is what I'm assuming a lot of you are waiting for. I have actually been writing a lot of that and I am about three to four chapters into it. Honestly I am feeling very good about it and want to put it on now but don't want to get swamped. So I am asking all of you. Should I post it on wattpad and risk some of my other stories falling behind, or wait until this one is finished then post it? It is all up to you. Thanks for reading everyone :)
