(Y/n) P.O.V
The attic. It was my home. It was my room. It was all I knew. A small cramped up room with mold spores and debris from broken and old antiques that had been stored there for the same purpose I sleep here, to be out of the way.
If only I could join Pacifica in attending our Northwest family party with only the richest of guests next month. That was a blissful idea, and yet...
It was nowhere close to what my filthy rich parents and spoiled rotten sister had in store for me.
It all started with my Dad, Preston Northwest, waking me up in the middle of the night.
"One of the maids quit, How dare she! I don't care if she was pregnant, she has work to do! Nine months?!?" I heard my dad yelling right beneath the wooden trap door that opened up to the attic/ my room.
He swung open the trap door and waited for the dust to settle, his gaze sent daggers at me, as if I caused this entire dilemma just to spite him.
"(Y/n)! You are responsible for picking up Pacifica's dress for the Northwest party next month!"
"Whatever you say." I growled under my breath. I turned to face the broken window beside my bed and gaze outside.
The sky has dimmed. Stars had broken out and were shining left and right. Then one big star shot across the sky in a blaze, while pine trees crowded the area below all and left nothing else but the star speckled sky visible to me.
I reached inside the pocket of my oversized (f/c) jacket in search for my black sharpie. I uncapped the lid, took a wiff of it, and pushed back my sleeve. I began to draw a shooting star and a pine tree. They came out kinda cartoonish but otherwise, they looked nice.
Nice drawing, (Y/n).
I looked up, my eyes looking at my surroundings. I headed downstairs after my Dad. "Did you say something dad?" I asked running after him, he didn't slow down and he didn't seem to hear me. I tripped over my own left foot and crashed into the ground.
My chin slammed down and my teeth jammed up into my upper lip and split it. My hands quickly covered my mouth but that didn't stop a drop of blood from falling onto my parents's favorite carpet pattern.
"(Y/N)!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" My dad screamed turning back to face me, while I was left almost speechless. "I-I heard...there w-was a...a voice, d-didn't you here it?"
My mom, Priscilla Northwest, raced by his side, looked at the drop of blood, and gritted her teeth. "This is exactly why you need to go up to your room and not come back downstairs! You are no Northwest! You are no daughter of mine!"
I clamped my mouth shut and turned for my room. I hurried to scramble back up the ladder and push open the trap door. As I rushed to my bed, glass shards located themselves on my right leg, cutting veins and warming my bare feet with my flowing blood.
I ignored the fact I was bleeding from my upper lip and legs as I cuddled myself into my musty old bed, trying to keep myself from crying. My bed wasn't soft or fancy like Pacifica's, but it was warm... and that was all that mattered.
I curled up inside the thin blanket, licked my bleeding lip and shut my puffy eyes... I am NOT crazy, I DID hear a voice...I know I did...
I'm not crazy... I am just...tired.
Yeah. I nodded, into my pillow...tired.
