Chapter 33: Will you make sure no one eats my brains: prt 2
Halloween week. The one time a year when no one did anything, but party. Blaire and the girls had been looking forward to it since day one. The costumed balls, witchy pranks and over all feel.
So waking up to two separate screams was not in the list. Neither were two pissed off females banging at her door at five am.
"I'm coming I'm coming. Chill your pits jeez." I grumbled turning the lock only to see.
"Where's the rest of your hair!"
"Ask your bloody boyfriend!" Neeks seethed.
"It's not Blair's fault Nicole!"
"So why isn't her hair lobbed off?"
"Maybe they couldn't get passed the locks." I offered meekly.
Addys beautiful red hair was mangled fraying in a long bob, the ends ragged and uneven. That was nothing on Nicole though who seemed to be missing three quarters of her hair.
"The boys?"
"Who bloody else!" Addy grumbled, "during Halloween week as well!"
"What are you guys going to do?" I asked rubbing my eyes sleepily.
"We have to go into town. The only thing to do is to cut it evenly. It's probably going to take a bit."
"I'll avenge your hair for you if you want."
"Of course we want that," Neeks seethed just as Addy refused.
"This war has gone too far already I think it's time to call it off."
"But she hasn't gotten her vengeance yet." Nicole protested.
"Vengence is a fools errand."
"Very sage. We'll see about the call off but until further notice you two are benched. No arguments go we'll talk later."
As the two girls drove off I found myself unable to drift back to sleep. Crabby at the lost sleep and pissed at the boys I got ready and got ready for a stroll around the quad.
The world was silent as I walked around. I sipped my coffee casually eventually settling in under a tree to draw. I was just adding a few details when a huge weight fell on me.
"I knew it was you! I recognised the jacket!"
Wait what...
***
"Yes mum I can see the car pulling up. I will look after him, yes I know he's a mischievous one. Mum I gotta go he's here."
I watched as my baby brother got out of the car. He was the spitting image of my dad which meant he was the spitting image of me as well. His dark hair had grown and his eyes shone as he saw me.
I had missed the tike and I held out my arms for a hug. Archie was my world and I adored him.
Or at least I did until he barrled right past me and tackled someone else sitting under the shade of an oak.
"I knew it was you! I recognised the jacket! "
What the ever loving f**k.
"Blue?"
I knew that voice. The ebony curls escaping her jacket seemed to mock me as I watched her bolt up. My brother clung onto her as she spun him around.
"Jet!"
"Blue!"
He swung himself up to her shoulders and I caught sight of them. They grinned she had hair falling in her eyes and his fell onto her. My heart twisted.
"Archie what the hell are you doing on Ryder!"
***
I happily scooped up the little boy I had so grown to miss. It seemed unreal that he was here holding onto me as I swung him around. Nothing could have broken out little bubble until...
"Archie what the hell are you doing on Ryder?"
"Falcon?"
"Ryder?"
"Fal!"
What even! Suddenly Blue was gripped tight and taken from me.
"Hey!" We both protested.
"Stay away from my brother Ryder," He growled.
"Brother?" And all of a sudden the similarities swamped me.
The same coal hair the same piercing eyes. I had met him on the plane he mentioned a brother. I met Falcon in the airport. Now side by side they both blinked at me one angrily the other happily.
Oh God what have I gotten myself into?
To be continued...
