Book One Of The Clumsy Artist Series
"If I do this love." He murmured catching a strand of my loose hair. "You'll owe me. Are you ready to owe the devil a favour? Because I guarantee I'll come to collect."
Those were the words that changed my life a...
Hours passed like minutes as he danced me around the room. We laughed and joked and talked so much that my throat hurt from exertion.
If you were to ask me later what it was we talked about I couldn't explain it if I tried. All I could tell you was that as the night got colder we pressed closer until I was ducked right under his chin.
"Its getting a bit loud in here, you want to step out." He called above the music.
"That'd be perfect." I smiled.
He grinned and spun me in a wide arc, right through the back door. When I came to a stop on the porch he grinned and grabbed my hand.
"The swing's over here."

I followed him and sat on the old tree swing. It reminded me of one I had at home a life time ago. It was probably in the attic now put away, forgotten.
"I don't know much about you. Who's to say you won't kill me and stash the body out here." I joked as he pushed me in the swing.
"And leave you in that dress for all eternity. I'm not that cruel, you'll probably trip on your way into the after life." He chuckled pushing me higher.
"You make me sound like a complete ditz."
"How many times did you step on my toes?" He asked punctuating with a tickle. "How many near misses did you have just getting here?" I squealed and batted at him. "Hell how did we meet?"
"Fine fine I give!" I said breathlessly. "I never said I was Scarlett Johansson, I'm just no Dopey."
"I disagree you are so Dopey a very adorable Dopey." I stuck my tongue out at him. "Dont tempt me."
"Jerk. So what's your story?"
"My story well it's long you got time?"
"For you all the time in the world."
And so we talked I told him the pressures of being an only child, the constant need to be perfect for everyone and everything. He told me about his family and how much he loved them but how he would soon be taking over the business. I've never seen someone tense up so fast.
"I mean I love them and I would obviously not hate following in their foot steps and taking over, but I feel like I never got the chance to properly decide for myself. And I haven't the foggiest why I'm telling you all this." He grumbled running a hand through his hair.
"Because I'm a great listener and you need to talk to someone and who better than someone you're likely to never see again."
