Link and Zelda stayed close, scrutinizing each person. Each vai seemed nervous, knowing now that the Yiga were surrounding them at all corners. Each person was young too, none too young or too old. None carried a blade or weapon, yet there was one that did. A tall Gerudo vai who wielded a rusty halberd walked around with a snarl on her face. Obviously she was out of the picture.

The same ancient vai at the general shoppe sold her foodstuffs, all hydromelons and even swimming suits accustomed to the Zora. Many people still preferred to keep a couple hundred rupees and dip their toes in.

Night rolled in with fog, like sandstorms but less blinding. At night, when the moon rose and many fell into slumber, Zelda fell asleep against Link's shoulder, her innocence compelling him to kiss her.

She was so precious, such a darling. He never wanted her to be out of his sights.

That night, when the sun rose at dawn, he awoke with a start. The blonde hair he loved was not upon him, nor her head.

He turned and saw nothing but the princess' necklace.

Link almost yelped, the princess gone from his sights. He searched around, everyone asleep but four men. The guard was asleep, and they rested near the four slim, shiny men...

Hylian travelers.

With four simultaneous puffs of orange dust, the Yiga assassins circled Link. He pulled the royal blade yet one kicked it away.

The quadruplet lumbered toward the knight, yet he didnt step down. He stayed up, and right as one man struck, he fell.

Blood splattered across the quiet sands, the blade of evil's bane split through his torso.

"Thank you," whispered Link. With ire, knowing Zelda had been taken in the night, he slashed each Yiga. One clawed at Link, tearing his tunic and staining it with blood, but he did not care. His blade slashed each one until a sole Yiga stood. He was injured, yet he still put up a fight, using a variety of melee attacks. Link dodged each, a parry each turn as the battle climaxed. The assassin jumped into the air and slashed Link's back, causing him to scream a bloodcurdling cry and fall into the water. The Yiga stumbled as well, yet once Link got up he pressed his shoulders, making him bow onto the ground. Deafeated, Link just looked up, and once the blade crossed his throat, the Master Sword reached behind and the blade entered the Yiga, a cry firm and dark.

The sun rose, and as Link stared down at the assassin, his blade at the Yiga's neck, he asked: "Where is the princess."

The Yiga chuckled darkly. "What Princess?"

"Zelda!" Link angrily drove the blade closer to the throat of the assassin.

"Look anywhere, you won't find her." Again, the Yiga chuckled, his tone deep and shallow, disappearing into a cloud of sunset orange dust, blinding Link and making him fall back into the sands. The sun rose, the mirage of Zelda twinkling before said sun.

The hideout is obviously not where she is, thought Link. He flexed and limped over to the water, unclothing and jumping into the water. It was cool, and it provided a medicine. It was odd that no one had woken, leading him to believe they were under some influence. Sleep syrup or something strong.

When the pain was coaxed out of him, Link got up, clothed and prepared for his journey to the desert. A sand seal came, and Link hopped upon it. He watched through the wind the erection of Riju's tower, and the walls of the Gerudo Town as he neared it. He hopped off the seal and entered the town.

It was chilly here, like the cold of Hebra Mountain. The town was deserted, not a Gerudo in sight. The shops were rid of the usual fruit and clothes. He checked each shop and nook in the place but nothing appeared. On one instance, two Yiga came, yet Link was dextrous, and shot each with an arrow to the neck. He ran to Riju's domain, and nothing was there, not even Birida, her guard.

He checked the throne, and nothing was there.

The town was vacant.

Yet the hideout could prove. Or the castle. Since he was already there, he made way to the hideout, preparing for the blistering heat of the desert day.
