"Father, I miss you." I picked at the blue Champion's tunic I bore, and waved air towards me. Today Death Mountain was hot, even inside of Divine Beast Vah Rudania. Today I would march the salamandre right up to Hyrule Castle, and take the princess back...in Link's honor. In my father, Daruk's honor. I flexed and maneuvred the beast, the fiery lizard making it's way down the flaming volcano.
I looked down to Goron City, a bustling enterprise started by the teenage Goron merchant whom, at a young age, would roll around town bumping into people and trying to sell to them.
Ramella, a Gerudo here in search to begin her own jewelry enterprise, came to the city and began selling us her crafts. My ruby necklace blazes with fires of my people, and it makes me proud.
I remember what my father told me ten years ago before Link put a licking on Ganon. I remembered protecting myself with his power. It....it remindd me of him.
"Daruk..." I smiled and looked down at all of Hyrule. The castle down there was splendid, yet cast with Yiga banners. "I will avenge you."Yunobo's Memory • Daruk's Protection
"You're dead?" I asked my father. "No, you cannot be!"
Daruk nodded, but I could tell he was holding back tears. He placed a hand on my shoulder paternally. "You will take up my position as Goron Champion, Yun."
"No!" I refused, backing away from him. "You don't understand. I can't pilot that...thing!" I motioned to Divine Beast Vah Rudania. "You...you...""Yes," Daruk simply stated. "I must go, son. Just know. I can't ever be more proud. And I love you more than anything." He pulled me into a tight, rocky embrace. Kissing me goodbye. Leaving.
"I love you too, Father."
