The New Hyrule ? Chaos of the Deserted

The ruins of Kakariko Village consisted of ash, and burnt wood. Smoke filled the area, and Yiga banners hung everywhere. Impa's house was a chunk of rubble, and Mollie's plum garden was dust. Paya decided to stay with King Dorephan and Prince Sidon back in zora's Domain to avoid coming back here, so Link was all alone.
For some weird reason, the Master Sword glowed here, as if the Calamity had been present.

Link snuck around the small village, checking the ruins, and finally the burned ash of Impa's House. There he saw nothing, but before he turned around he caught sight of a blast of wind from the right.
He leaped forward, as the Windcleaver Yiga appeared, a giant brute. Link pulled out his blade, and ran at him, yet he had to pull back because the guard had caught him. He flipped back just as the Yiga blade grazed his skin, and quickly he had found his opening. Link rushed him with a grand flurry kf attacks, slashes to the Yiga's body. Soon Link caught sight of two other Yiga with demon carvers in their hands, and one with a vicious sickle behind him.
Link turned and parried the demon carvers, one with shield and one with sword. The sickle cut into his back, but he slashed back, the Yiga fell and then backed away. The demon carvers rushed Link, but he backflipped so the two Yiga hit eachother.

Then a much taller and more muscular Yiga appeared. He turned to Link, looking much like a jester. "So, you have made it all this way? And for this?" He unlocked a pouch on his hip, and there the Sheikah Slate was.

Link reached out to it, but the man slapped his hand away. "Link, I dont want to do this to you,"the man exclaimed. "I dont want to hurt you. Just go."

Link shook his head, his sword tipped to this mysterious Yiga. "Who are you?"

The man paused and stood guard with the slate. "I am Master Zaan."

Link squinted his eyes and walked around Zaan, and Zaan walking opposite Link. "Why wont you hurt me?"

Zaan paused and seemed to sigh. "You will know once the time comes," he told Link. "Zelda is waiting."

He popped out of existence seemingly, and where he stood was the Sheikah Slate. Link plucked it from the ground and activated it, the nostalgic sound filling his ears.
Why would the Yiga Master help Link? How did he know Link? And what was going on in general?
