"You talk like he's an actual human..."
Jack is about to say something, when the dog-...sorry, Conner opens his eyes, which are a shocking pale blue, and lifts his head to look up at Jack. "Kinda useful?"
I blink. "Holy shit, the wolf just talked..."
Conner's head turns to me and he frowns. "Excuse me, 'the wolf?'"
Jack sighs. "Abby he's a werewolf..."
"Wow," I say, "I should really start letting you finish."
Werewolf?! The hell is a werewolf doing here?! Last I remembered, or, last Cas had lectured me, werewolves were pretty set on staying in their realm. Some packs are on Earth, but only some. Plus, there's also the war, something Cas lectured me on as well. Of course, many wars happen among all races, humans most common, but this war was huge.
It was a war between the elves and werewolves...because of the destruction of the Element Bender village. Elves suspected werewolves had some part in it, as werewolves and Phe's race were always on a very thin line of peace, but they were found innocent, or as Cas likes to say: "not guilty" eventually and the war slowed to a stop.
It took a toll on both species and the others that joined sides.
Nobody found who was actually behind the mass murder, and only high leaders were allowed classified information about it.
Which means Jack knows, because his father is an elven king, and tells him these things to teach him lessons about ruling the kingdom, or something like that. I've begged him to tell me, but he seems to be the only one that can resist my puppy eyes.
Which is a real pity, honestly.
I come back into focus as Jack laughs, and Conner slides off the couch and trots off into the room that none of us were given to stay in, which I now know is his. A few minutes later, a young man, probably around nineteen years old, walks out and over to an empty chair, where he sits down. He has black hair, that's tossed in slight wavy locks around his head, and his skin is a healthy pale color. He runs a hand through his hair with a smirk on his face, and I would recognize those striking pale blue eyes anywhere.
I blink, a bit shocked. I thought a werewolf's fur reflected his hair color, so I kinda assumed his hair would be white, but that wouldn't be possible unless he was like Phe, and we have come to clarify Phe is the last pureblood of her kind.
"Wow." I look up at Jack and smirk. "He may be more good-looking than you," I say teasingly.
As Conner starts laughing, Jack pouts. "That's not true is it?" He then looks at Conner. "Is it?!"
Conner and I just continue to laugh. Jack continues to pout, like always.
Cas soon walks in with a slight limp. "You guys are loud..." she mumbles.
"Sorry, Cas!" I say with some intentional loudness in my voice, just to irritate her. I then tilt my head to the side with worry, my teasing time done. "How is your leg doing?"
She sighs as she falls back into another empty lounge chair in the room. I swear, there could be an endless amount of them, but there's only three. "Not good. It feels like I have an injury."
"That's because you do," Jack replies.
"I know, I was being sarcastic." She says simply.
At this, Jack, being his normal self, gasps. "What?! You, Cas, sarcastic?!" He looks shocked. She rolls her eyes and leans back in the chair. She finally notices Conner, and her eyes widen slightly as they make eye contact. Jack sighs, beginning to explain and when he finishes, she nods, closing her eyes. For a moment I see Conner's eyes linger on her for a moment, looking a little shocked, before he sits next to Jack and leans back, masking any emotion with a blank look on his face.
