a/n: the girl doesn't have a name - bread
ace's pov:
"you're late ace." the girl said, i ran right into her as she wrapped her hand onto my back and whisked me around to kiss me. it was extremely passionate, but worth it.
"dad's wanted to talk." i said, she smirked and kissed me again, letting me up this time. thanking god above that the door was shut behind me.
"let's go before hey stare at us through the window." i said. she chuckled pink but smirked orange, yellow.
"of course. where do you wanna go? today is yours." she said, latching our hands together and walking away from dr. d's shed.
"i don't know." i said. she leaned over and kissed my head, making me blush harder.
"well we can go to the diner. or the old house if you want." she said. i smiled until i saw what was in the distance.
"well i know what we're doing for now. two dracs up ahead get your gun out." i said, then unlatched our hands and started to run. she ran after me as i got out my gun.
"that's impossible! there's no more dracs! they were wiped when i blew up battery!" she yelled, catching up to me. the dracs were in her view now.
"well maybe there's some people left! and they're rising!" i said, "let's go!"
we started shooting, there were only two dracs but it would still do something. i shot down one instantly and killed the one the girl almost got caught by. she ran over and hugged me.
"thank you, i-i couldn't see them." she said. i nodded letting go.
"it's fine. i've killed more dracs in my life than how many times i've ever kissed you." i said, she smirked and pulled me in.
"let's change that. eventually." she said. i smiled.
"okay." i replied, then let go, going to a dead drac and taking the mask off. the girl looked at me confused.
"wait." she said, in shock. i looked up to her with furrowed brows.
"what? you didn't know?" i asked. she shook her head.
"well don't put it on. let's just say that." i said. she nodded in fear, i stood up and went to her.
"it's okay. it's going to be okay. your mom isn't going to be captured. these aren't killjoys." i said, pushing a growing curl behind her ear and kissing her lips softly. clouds really.
"i-i know." she said. i smiled.
"good. she'll be okay." i said. she nodded and took my hand.
"how can they be back? how do we kill them? the bomb was already detonated and destroya already did his job." she said, shaking her head. i walked with her, holding onto the mask. thinking.
"maybe not everyone died." i said. she looked at me confused.
"what do you mean?" she asked. i stopped. her playground eyes stared.
"what!" she said. i looked around, still in some three.
"you know no-mans-land?" i asked. she nodded.
"north part of zone four. no one can set foot there. three football fields of smell that's unbearable. why?" she said. i chuckled at her information.
"did anyone ever tell you why it smelt there?" i asked.
"nope. no one ever knew anyway. dr. d said it himself." she said. i smiled slowly on my face. she smiled back only in confusion.
"what?" she asked.
"that smell it's korse's dead body rotting away. it smells worse than a regular body because of the drugs he was on in battery. he left before you blew. and so every main person under his direct control and drugs couldn't die because he wasn't blown up. yeah the dead were released and everything else. but not the main core. he asked me to kill him. i was nine." i said. she stared at me.
"and that's when you saw them." she said. i nodded.
"yes." i said. she stared around, grabbing my hand again.
"let's go. we need to tell them." she said, i pulled her back.
"diner first?" i asked. she groaned but smirked.
"fine! your day!" she said. i pecked her cheek as we started to run after i put the mask in my bag.
no man's land is so far away.
