Heyo!! Go check out The Deal, I'm rly excited to write that story and I think it turned out well. Like I spent a good few hours doing research on language and clothes and stuff for this story and I already have the next chapter written.
Agh, I'm just so excited for a really cool AU.
Enjoy~
(Y/n)'s POV
I woke up with dried marks of tears on my cheeks and a heavy weight on my chest. Despite having cried for the majority of the night, I didn't feel relieved of stress. I feel like someone is watching me.
"Hey," I glanced up at Emma, fully dressed and I rubbed my eyes. So I was being watched. "We going to talk about this?" She gestured to my face and I wiped at my dry cheeks.
"We need to get you to the airport."
"I've got time," she said, sitting on my bed. "Spill."
"Okay, so you know that Tyler is a YouTuber?" She nodded. "Well, I had old friends, my best friends, back in London that did YouTube. It was my fault that we lost contact when I left for school and they were there at that party. I just freaked out at the thought of them yelling at me or hating me. It was better when I 'forgot' them."
"Are you kidding? If anything, they'd be happy to see you after all this time."
"See, one of them shunned me before I left, like he hated me, and I'm pretty sure I hurt the other's feelings," I admitted and she nodded.
"Well, it will eat away at you now that you've seen them, you might as well try to contact at least one of them or you'll regret it," she said, patting my shoulder. I swallowed and nodded.
"Let's just get some lunch and head to the airport," I said and she nodded, going to get her shoes. Once Emma was all dropped off and set back to New York, I decided that maybe I should try and contact Joe. That would be hard of course, considering she was a YouTuber now. Who knows if I would be able to get a hold of him.
I could try Twitter first, so I pulled out my phone. I went to my dms and started to pull up Joe's account when I paused. I had two dms, one from Tyler and from 'Zoella'.
That wasn't from...
I clicked Tyler's first and it explained that he had talked with Joe and Zoe and she was going to message me. So it was her. Should I?
(Y/n)!!!!!! It's been so long!!! I can't even imagine what you look like! We need to meet up and stat!!! I've missed you like you wouldn't believe!! Text me here (phone #)
I put in her number. She didn't seem mad, that was good. Why wasn't she mad?
Hey, it's (y/n)
WE HAVE TO MEET RIGHT NOW.
You're seriously not mad?
Mad? How?! I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE ITS YOU!!
It's just, I lost contact with you, I feel really bad.
Is that why you left last night?
Yeah...
Well, trust me, I'm not mad. Long distance sucks and I just really want to see you.
I'm free now, coffee?
Omg, yes. Starbucks on 3rd?
That's close to where I live.
Seriously? ME TOO.
Okay, now I'm excited, I'm leaving rn.
Already ahead of you.
I put my phone away and practically bolted down the stairs. I caught a cab and rode to the Starbucks only 15 minutes away. I'm going to see Zoe.
I felt way less guilty and more excited and nervous, my leg bouncing in the back seat. The driver seemed annoyed with the constant tap of my foot on the floor, but I didn't care. I paid for the ride and walked into the shop, looking around for the face I had seen last night on YouTube. She wasn't here yet so I just ordered and sat down, my leg bouncing impatiently. I watched the door intently and the second I saw her I launched out of my seat. She spotted me and ran towards me.
"(y/n)!!" She called and tackled me in a hug. She squeezed me tightly, her arms in a seat belt fashion around my torso. Her nails duh slightly into my back, but I didn't care, I just hugged her back, burying my face in her shoulder.
"I missed you," I said and she just laughed. When she pulled back, I could see glossy eyes and I laughed. "Oh come on, don't make me cry. Besides, we wouldn't want to mess up that make up miss beauty guru."
"You know about that?"
"Of course, you think I didn't obsess over your channels last night? I needed to see what you looked like," I said and she smiled. I stood in line with her as she ordered and she asked me questions.
"So the hair changed huh?" She asked.
"I mean, yeah, I didn't like growing it out again, so I kept it short," I said. That's right. I had cut my hair the summer before I left.
"And you look so good!" She said.
"Please," I scoffed and she elbowed me as we made our way to the table.
"How was school and tell me about work and your life and yeah!"
"Oh, well, school was really fun. I have a job here, writing movies for a small company, and I have a boyfriend named Adam."
"Congrats on the job!! And Adam?"
"He's a physicist, really nice guy," I said. "What about Alfie?"
"Oh, we're doing great!!" She said, smiling. I listened to her talk about Alfie and I filled her in on my life. When we took a small paused she interrupted. "I really missed this."
"Yeah, me too, and I'm still really sorry for not pulling my weight in keeping up with you," I said.
"That's okay, I didn't do great either," she said. "Have you gotten in contact with anyone else?"
"Uh, no," I said.
"Not Dan or Phil?" I paused.
"No."
"I'm sure Phil would go absolutely nuts," she laughed and I chuckled awkwardly.
"Yeah, but I heard Dan and Phil are like a combo now, I don't think Dan wants to see me," I said, sipping my drink. She seemed to rack her brain and she realized what I was talking about.
"Oh, he can't hold a grudge that long, I wouldn't worry about it," she said. "I'll give you their numbers if you like."
"Yeah, I'd like that."
"It's so strange he did that back then seeing as..." she paused and glanced at me. "You two were such good friends."
"Yeah, it was strange."
"What did you say your boyfriend's name was?"
"Adam?"
"Yeah, sorry."
"Don't worry about it." I replied. Seeing her strange behavior made me worry. Was Dan still mad? He had told me to never talk to him ever again.
"I'd talk to them," she interrupted my worrying. I nodded.
"Hey, so, I was thinking you could come by, say hello to Alfie and just hang out?"
"I'd love that," I replied and she took my hand, pulling me from the restaurant with a grin.
Stay awesome!
