Hey

Enjoy~

(y/n)'s POV

"I'll see you later Meg," I called, hopping down the last step. I pushed open the front door and was greeted with cold. I followed it with a breathy sigh and turned to make my way home. "Dan?"

What was he doing here? He had been standing against the wall, bouncing his knee as he waited for me. He smiled awkwardly when he saw me and approached. Had he waited for me to get done at work?

"What are you doing here?" I asked, hugging my torso.

"I just...uh...wanted to apologize for the whole being weird yesterday. I wanted to make up for it with coffee or something," he said. Oh, well that was nice.

"Sure, Krema is right over there," I said, pointing behind me.

"Krema?"

"Coffee shop," I said, waving to Meg who passed by on her way home. "Here, come on." I led him across the street and down a few buildings to the coffee place. "I honestly feel like I spend half my life in here."

"Really?"

"Yeah, this is my Central Perk," I commented and he smiled at the friends reference.

"I call Chandler," he said, holding open the door for me.

"Oh? And who am I?"

"Monica obviously," he said and I felt my throat tighten as we entered.

"Why?"

"Bc you're a neat freak sometimes, plus you're just the dependable one," he explained. So it wasn't because they were a pair in the show.

"I think I'm more a Phoebe," I commented as we got in line.

"Are you crazy? You wish you were a Phoebe," he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Wow thanks."

"You're welcome," he replied as we stepped up to the counter.

"Your usual (y/n), and for you sir?" the girl at the counter asked. Her name was Amanda and she was working often, or at least when I came out of work. We chatted quite often and she knew what I came for. Dan gave her the order and I pulled out my wallet. Dan put out a hand to stop me and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You paid for dinner last night," I said.

"So?"

"You suck," I said.

"Wow what a nice thing to say to the person buying your coffee," he said.

"Too bad you're not that person huh," I said, handing over the money while he was distracted.

"Touche."

"You must be Adam," Amanda said.

"Oh, uh, no this is my friend Dan," I said and her face flushed.

"Sorry."

"No problem," I replied, taking the coffees from her hand. She smiled and I gave my usual tip. She was always the best when I came by. I led Dan to a table.

"Adam has never been here and you spend half your life here?" Dan asked. I nodded.

"I've brought him some, but he's busy a lot," I said.

"That must be tough," Dan said.

"Yeah," I said, dipping my head and chewing on my lip.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up," he said. I shrugged and sipped my coffee. I put my chin in my hand and sighed.

"Maybe I'm more of a Ross. I always seem to get myself in really suck ass situations," I said, tracing my index finger around the rim of the coffee cup.

"No you're not, it's just something you should bring up. The thing about Ross is that he gets into these situations, but he still ends up with the right girl or the right thing in the end. SO you just have to talk to Adam and tell him 'hey I think we should include each other in our lives, I feel like I barely know you'. It's not good to be in a relationship with someone you don't know and have a connection with," Dan said.

"You're right," I replied, smiling a tad. "I'll bring it up later, thanks."

"No problem." I watched him smile and take a sip of his coffee and I couldn't help but feel happy.

"I'm glad you stopped me today," I said.

"Why?"

"Because. It's nice to hang out with you and not like last night. That was kinda weird."

"Yeah, I don't know what was up with me, but I'm glad you're happy," he said. I glanced up and we caught eyes for a second. "When you're happy, I'm happy." I smiled and glanced down at my cup again.

"Me too."

~Time Skip~

I put my bag aside, slipping off my shoes. Coffee with Dan lasted longer than I had expect, but that was okay, I didn't really have anywhere to go. I had decided on Adam's, knowing he'd be home, on his computer, and now was the time to catch him.

"Adam?"

"Yeah? In the den!" he called and I headed up the stairs to his office, or his 'den'. I will never know why he calls it that.

"Hey, can we talk for a second?" I asked. Come on, be like Ross. You can do that.

"Yeah, sure what's up?"

"I just...I felt like, or well, I feel like we don't really know each other as well as I'd like. I barely know how you live your life besides work and hanging out with me. I want to know your hobbies and I want you to know mine. My friends know as much about you as I do," I said. He sighed and sat back in his chair.

"Yeah, I know. I get it."

"So?"

"Well, you and I can do more activities together, stuff we like, if that's what you want," he said.

"Do you want that?"

"Of course. I'm always up for being around you," he said. Yeah, but did he want to get to know me? We're practically strangers.

"Okay, next time we have time, we can do something you like to do and just talk," I said. He nodded.

"Sounds like a plan," he said. I kissed him on the cheek.

"I'm going to head home and do some stuff," I said, and he nodded, turning back to his computer. I sighed and headed back down, putting my shoes and jacket back on. Somehow that didn't make me feel better.

Did he even care about knowing me?

I stepped out and started down the stairs. Sometimes I feel like Adam wasn't the right one for me, but I like him so much. I guess I like being around him and I want to get to know him, I just need to figure out if he feels the same way.

Right?
