Today has been extremely stressful and I'm rly pissed at 抖阴社区 for randomly deleting Painted Smile.

This was supposed to be yesterdays upload.

So agh.

Enjoy~

(Y/n)'s POV

"That'll be it for today, thanks guys," I closed up my notebook along with everyone else in the room. "(Y/n)?" I glanced up at my new boss and he gestured for me to come over.

"Yes David?"

"I'd just like to ask you how you think you're doing? I think you've done a good job integrating yourself into the flow of the office, but don't feel scared to add in more, I really want to hear from you, that's why I hired you."

"I think so as well, I'll keep that all in mind," I said and he nodded, turning to take his stuff. I walked back over to put my stuff away. He started leaving before me and gave me a wave goodbye. I waved back and smiled.

I had just finished up my first brainstorm session. We were working on the opening for the new movie we were creating and I had tons of ideas. I opened the door and a man waiting outside locked it up once I exited. I walked down the stairs and caught up with my office buddy Meghan.

"Wanna get coffee?" She asked and I nodded. Meg was definitely the creative type and she seemed to really warm up to me. She played with one of her rings as we walked to a new shop called Coffee Krema. "Nice suggestion with the crashed tree."

"Oh, thanks. I just figured that she lived in a run down neighborhood and like maybe there's a fallen tree. I don't know it's stupid."

"It's not stupid, I actually like how attentive to detail you are," she said and I smiled.

"Thanks Meg." Meg was the sweetest person, but to be honest I was honestly scared of her when we first met. She had been laid back in her chair and had an eyebrow piercing. She honestly looked mad and I remember cautiously taking a seat and now noticing the stud in her nose as well. Her eyes were a dark brown and had smooth olive skin. She was extremely pretty. She was one of those people that could pull off piercings really well. She was kind of short but could still kick your ass if necessary. When I had sat down, she turned in her chair and I could see piercings along her ear as well.

"You new?"

"Uh yeah, I'm (y/n)," I said.

"Pretty name, I'm Meg, short for Meghan but you probably already figured that."

"Of course she did, and your feet on the table is a little rude." She threw a pen at the boy who had cut in. He was soon introduced as AJ and he was really cool too. He had platinum blonde hair swirled at the top of his head and bright blue eyes, super excited to just be at work. They both seemed really cool. I soon felt at home as they talked with me.

"AJ is already there," Meg said and we crossed the street haphazardly to get to the front door to Krema. We joined AJ in the cafe and Meg slung her shoulder bag across the back of her chair. She had a really layered sense of style and was really imaginative like me. Despite her appearance she was a terrible artist as she has demonstrated to me a few days earlier, drawing a portrait of AJ which was not well received. AJ was the artist, extremely good at drawing and tended to work more at the physical aspects of movie scenes.

"(Drink)?" Meg asked and I nodded, leaving me alone with AJ who was sketching in his notebook.

"What are you drawing?"

"You," he said blatantly.

"Why?"

"I've never drawn you before, and you're here to be my model now," he said.

"Is my face really that wide?" I asked, looking at the head shape he had drawn.

"I made a circle (y/n)," he smirked and I scoffed. He looked up at my face and stared. "I will say you have weird eyes."

"What?!"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding, you need to lighten up," he laughed and I sat back.

"Sorry, I've been on edge the past 2 or 3 days," I said, sitting back in my chair. "That Tyler guy invited us to a frickin YouTube party and my old friends who I so rudely ditched for college were there. I flipped and left. I've only talked to one of them and she seemed cool, but I still feel like a jerk," I said, putting my face in my hands.

"Ahem, model?"

"Hah, sorry." I sat back so he could continue.

"Well, you say you still feel guilty after talking to one of them?"

"Yeah," I sighed.

"I'm going to go with the loosen up again. You should meet up with them, whether they're angry or not and at least then that's a little relief. Plus, you said she wasn't even mad, so you need to be less hard on yourse--tilt ur head up?" I tilted my head up a tad and sighed again.

"Yeah, you're right, but it doesn't help that I'm still a chicken," I pointed out.

"That is indeed true," he said, not looking up from his page. Meg set 2 cup in front of us and sat down, glancing at my slightly awkward posture.

"Is he drawing you?"

"Yeah, I am," he cut in and Meg rolled her eyes.

"You know, you don't have to draw everyone," she said.

"You're just jealous I won't draw you," he sassed and she pursed her lips.

"Whatever," she said, flipping her long brown hair over her shoulder. AJ drew me and we chatted for a while. His drawing ended up amazing as usual and I decided I'd walk home. I had a while before Adam came over so I might as well take my time. I said goodbye to the two and headed in the opposite direction.

I was beginning to think seeing Dan and Phil would be nice, but I decided that texting Phil might be the best option. Dan was the one I was most worried about. I pulled out my phone as I was walking and pulled up the number Zoe gave me. I plugged it into my phone and saved it as Phil.

Hey Phil, it's been a long time, but it's (y/n) from high school.

Too casual.

Hello Phil. Your friend Zoe gave me your number so that I could retouch with you. It's (y/n) from high school and I'd just like to apologize for leaving you and loosing touch, but I really want to talk again.

Too formal and apologetic.

Hey Phil, it's (y/n) from high school and I know it's been a really long time and I don't know if Zoe told you anything, but I'm currently in London and I wanted to catch up and apologize for loosing touch so easily.

That's it.

I pressed send and tucked the phone in my pocket as to not make the snap decision to delete it or something worse. I headed the rest of the way home and there was no buzz from my phone yet. When I arrived, I ran into Adam approaching the building.

"Hey babe," he said, kissing my forehead and holding the door for me.

"Hey," I replied. We walked up the stairs and sat down on the couch together. Adam glanced at me and frowned.

"What's up?"

"I just messaged a really old friend who has the chance to hate me and I'm lowkey freaking out right now," I said and he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"I'm sure if they're an old friend, they won't hate you," he said. He was right, old friends at least stay loyal even if it's just a few times when they meet or talk. But that's not always the case. Either way, his comment was the most reassuring by far.

Yay!

Stay awesome!
