New things fast become normal, and 'normal' was a term that could be now used to describe many unprecedented things in Belle's life.
Belle Bulsara's daily deep conversations with Gwilym Lee are normal. Belle learnt that Gwilym was maybe more thoughtful and compassionate than she thought he'd be and Gwilym found himself incredibly shocked by Belle's perspective of life, so simple and humble compared to the perspectives of other people who were significantly less rich and famous than her. It was only Belle's third week at the psychiatric centre, but as far as Gwilym could tell, psychiatry was definitely Belle's thing. He could only hope for one thing:
"I hope you stay here for a long time," Gwilym commented as he sat in front of Belle as they both had lunch.
"I hope so too," Belle simpered. "I enjoy being here. I feel very blessed to be here," she said as she put the newspaper she was reading down on the table. Gwilym looked at the object and raised an eyebrow.
"Doesn't it feel weird to be reading a newspaper that has gotten your face printed on its front page?", he questioned with curiosity.
Belle chuckled and shook her head.
"No. It's everything I've ever known," Belle stated. "At least they're not bad-mouthing me."
News of Rami and Belle's divorce had gone public about a week ago and the press were losing their minds over it, especially because the couple had a newborn daughter. However, Rami kept releasing statements to the press reading the same thing: that they will always be friends for the sake of Alice. Had Belle known she would be a divorced woman by the age of twenty-three, she would have been heartbroken, but she knew she was living her best life given the circumstances, and Rami was ironically acting better than he had acted when they were married.
"You have a daughter. You're certainly blessed," Gwilym said with gloominess, his eyes welling up. "I wish I could find someone I love and settle down already, but I can't find no one."
"Well, Rami obviously didn't turn out to be my soulmate, but he came into my life when I least expected it. It sounds cliché, but maybe that will happen to you too," Belle smiled. "Anyways, there's a charity ball this weekend and maybe you could go with me and see who you could meet there."
Gwilym's eyes brightened. "I would love to!".
"Enjoying the nice view of the rainy fields instead of checking up on each of your patients, I see," Ben mockingly remarked as he walked into the room, referring to the fact that Gwilym and Belle were sitting right in front of a big window. Belle took a deep breath with annoyance.
The fact that Ben Hardy annoys the crap out of Belle Bulsara every day is normal. Ben, as a person, wasn't austere at all, but as a psychiatrist he was, and as Belle's attending physician he was even more strict, driving Belle to the edge and making her feel so uninviting every time he accompained her to some appointment. According to Ben, there was always something that Belle could do better, always something to fix, always something new to keep in mind for the next appointment, and Belle couldn't help but roll her eyes every time she saw him.
The fact that Belle Bulsara had not seen Ben's cousin, Roger Taylor, since she arrived from Austria two weeks ago is also normal, but that's a longer story.
"I don't know about Gwilym, but you personally asked me not to see any of my patients without your company," Belle remarked. "I'm following your instructions."
"Yes, but I also asked you to come to my office to discuss the new schedule. Didn't happen, so that obviously will happen tomorrow since the day's come to an end," Ben huffed and left the room.
