"Okay, Ruff, we need to figure this situation out," I said. "Legally, they can't arrest her for no reason."

"Yeah, maybe it's all just a misunderstanding," Hazel added.

"Come on, Ruff, snap out of it. Grandma needs you," Ruff said to himself.

"Okay, what did Grandma do to upset the police? That's the question we need an answer for," I replied.

Blossom walked to her desk to get something out of the drawer. She pulled out a newspaper article and handed over to me. The first thing I saw the headline "Scruff Ruffman Escapes Again!", along with a picture of him. I was already upset when I read the title. As I continued to observe the page, I came across a picture of Grandma Ruffman. Under her picture was a small text box. It said on May 22 at 8:53 pm, security suspected that she was last seen in Poodle Island with a concrete saw and carved a hole for Scruff to escape. My jaw dropped.

"Ruff, you might want to read this." I handed the newspaper over to him. He took in all of the information that was printed on it.

"No, this can't be real," Ruff gasped.

"Apparently, they think she broke Scruff out of jail," I said.

"I know Grandma loves Scruff, but enough to break the law? She would never do that!" Ruff cried.

"Ruff, we know she didn't do it. It says right here that she was in Poodle Island at 9:53 at night. Right now, it's May 23. This was just typed this morning. An hour ago at that time, she was leaving the nail salon. How can she go from Boston to the south of the Atlantic Ocean in less than an hour?" I explained.

"Let's try to call the police in Poodle Island to ask about her. We'll get their point of view," Hazel insisted.

"Blossom, call them," Ruff demanded.

She went to dial the number for Poodle Island and grabbed the phone. Ruff and Blossom asked the police officer over the phone to try to get information about the case. All they told us was they left a file with all of the information they needed with the authorities in Boston. They even gave them the address to the police station where the file was.

"How are we going to prove Grandma is innocent? I don't have a lawyer to help me," Ruff gasped.

"A lawyer, eh?" I said.

"Wait a minute, isn't Kyle at home right now?" Hazel asked.

"Yeah, why?" I questioned.

"Well, he's a lawyer. He can definitely help us here."

"Kyle? Coming here? I don't know," I sighed.

"What's wrong, Ruby?" Hazel asked.

"Nothing is just that Kyle really doesn't know about this. You know how he is, Hazel," I explained.

"We still need him regardless."

"Just call him and explain everything. Your brother will understand," Ruff said.

"Fine. Hopefully, he'll answer," I sighed. I went up to the landline phone and started dialing the number for our home phone number. It started ringing for two seconds when someone picked up the phone from the other end.

"Hello?" a male adult voice answered.

"Kyle, this is Ruby," I replied.

"Oh, hey, Ruby. What's up?"

"I need you to come over here right now."

"Ruby."

"Yeah?"
