Several months passed, the Atlas was now in space for the first time. Allura and the Holts found a way to make it possible for it to form wormholes, making the job of defenders of the universe a lot easier. They did that in their spare time while waiting for the Altean to wake, they still didn't. Romelle seemed to know them however said little. It seemed to get to her.

Griffin and the other pilots tended to help where it was needed, but avoided Voltron members and several of the aliens. Shiro thought it was because they just weren't used to it yet even though these were the same aliens that helped rebuilt Earth. Many were still helping while they were in space.

Keith had complete contact with the small amount calling themselves members of the blade. They were helping in figuring out why those months ago Matt was attacked. All that the group was able to confirm was that the attackers would undoubtedly be back to attempt again. Not the best reassurance for team Voltron. Acxa even helped after she decided to stay with the Atlas crew.

Hunk had been spending most of his time with Shay. Although they haven't said anything the team and even most of the crew of the Atlas knew that they were dating. No one decided to question them yet. Well, other then Rax who was also aboard.

As for Lance, the sharpshooter had been able to round up some information with what's been going on within the evil, corrupt empire. Lotor was at the throne with Haggard and all her divine cult members having a large amount of say. The brunette only pictured how they got along.

He imagined Lotor testing the Alteans with his idea that he was trying to actually save them. How they were stuck in another, harder to reach colony if that was even possible with several who have higher quintessence readings being tortured till they died by his insane mother. Lotor attempting to get back his generals. And failing.

Lance didn't know what would be better, Ezor and Zethrid killing Lotor or the prince killing them. He still pictured Pidge squirming as Zethrid slowly strangled her as others focused their guns. In the end, it didn't even matter. Sure Lance saved her from being strangled or shot but not from the door. That stupid door. Stupid Kerberos.

Currently, he was sitting in the red lion. He found himself just needing his own time. It didn't help that his mind drifted onto his dead friend more and more. Maybe ignoring it wasn't the best option. No matter what, this was the reality. Matt instead of Pidge. And everyone going back to happy lives.

Why couldn't Lance go back to his happy life. His family was around, He practically lived with Veronica again without having to drag her by her feet for the bathroom. Voltron said he was bad or hogging the bathrooms, clearly they never had to relish every second they got. Lance forced himself back onto the question. Why wasn't he okay? Grieving didn't take this long. At least he didn't think so.

Lights began to blast as Red made a connection. The lion put up it's shield as Lance attempted to calm her down. "Red, it's okay! We're not under attack. What's wrong?"

"Lance!"

It was Keith's voice coming through the com. "Where are you!"

"With Red, she's going crazy! What's going on!"

He could hear Keith sigh in relief. Not a good sign. "Matt is severely injured. Hunk tried to take them on. Probably saved him, but he has a broken arm. Atlas is under lock down."

"Who attacked?"

It was silent as Keith debated on telling him. But, if they were still on the Atlas Lance would need to know. "A druid. Along with Ezor. There's no ships around and I don't think the druid could teleport from the closest planet."

"What are you saying? To me it sounds like they've planned this with a mole."

"Then I'm making it sound correct."

The com ended. Not a good sign at all. Matt and Hunk were injured. What were they going to do with a leg and arm out of commission. And who aboard the Atlas would give information!

That evening, when Matt regained consciousness, Voltron held a meeting in the infirmary along with Shiro and Coran. "What happened? Was there any signs?" questioned the princess.

The green paladin nodded. He hadn't said much yet even though the meeting was already in its third hour. So much for short like what Lance was promised. "The system was hacked . Everything duplicated and half disappeared. Then a cryptid message said attack. Followed by the door opening."

Shiro squeezed the others shoulder. So much time spent together as tortured prisoners didn't just disappear. It was silent once again. They had gotten a warning. Who in the enemy ranks would be able to hack better then Matthew Holt could protect information and give them a warning. It just didn't add up unless the Galra upped their game. Lance frowned "We know what that means."

Keith gave a small nod to Lance. It meant that Galra could get their information. Every little bit, whenever they felt like it. It meant that there was a new heavy hitter in this nearly ended war. It meant that they wouldn't be able to track this heavy hitter. It meant that this new enemy in the ring, didn't want them dead yet. It meant that they were planning something.

After the meeting Lance stayed behind to think. Clearly it was nobody that they knew. Who would they know that would work with the Galra and steal their intel. He assumed it was an Altean that Haggard kidnapped.

He smiled seeing Allura. Today was already awful, being rejected wouldn't make it that much worse. The question slipped out. He didn't mean for it to just yet. Oh god, she was going to reject him.

"Sure Lance."

And loverboy Lance landed himself a date.
