"It's about Adam."
Shiro froze as a feverish like grin adorned his face. Maybe he was alive. Although he would most likely be tortured and injured all the captain wanted to do was hold him. Hear his voice once again. Never again would Shiro not listen to him, never again would he return to space. They'd have a nice simple life helping the Garrison from Earth, like what they wanted to before Kerberos came up.
"He's dead, Shiro."
The smile fell when he realized that he was just trying to tell him information she wasn't sure he knew. "Katie I know."
"He was taken prisoner."
"What?"
He watched as she took a deep breath and bit the side of her lip. Shiro knew that wasn't good. She was debating on not telling him. And although Shiro knew he needed to know, he had a feeling he didn't want to know. "He was chosen to enter the arena."
"Pidge. No. Who signed him up?"
"Several pilots that they collected and resistance fighters were all thrown in for the same round. A teenaged girl was also thrown in."
"Katie please. Please tell me your not saying what I think your saying."
"He teamed up with her but after they, killed, everyone, she killed him. She shot them through the chest." Her voice was cracking as tears formed.
"Katie, no."
"I killed Adam."
Shiro pinned the smaller girl against the wall gripping her by her neck with his normal arm. Slowly he squeezed. He could just kill her. Kill Lotor's Executioner. Kill Pidge Gunderson. Kill Katie Holt. Kill the flower girl of his wedding that would never happen. Shiro wanted to. "I'm sorry! I, I'm sorry Shiro! I had no choice! I didn't want to! I was saving-"
"No." He growled applying enough pressure to make it so she couldn't talk. "You're not sorry. You murdered him! He treated you like a daughter Katie and you just go around killing him! I don't know what we were thinking by not killing you. Your just some stupid girl who thinks she's so special. In truth you're nothing more than a low life. You've stolen information from Garrison even before Voltron. Then, after you killed hundreds of people! People you swore to save and protect! You want to kill your brother and everyone on aboard here! You killed my fiancé! Why would you kill him!" More pressure was applied and the edges of her vision began to darken and tears slipped down her cheek.
Pidge wanted to explain. She didn't want to kill Adam! She fought against killing Adam but she had to! Adam knew! He forgave her! Adam knew exactly the monster she was going to become and he still hugged her! He said Shiro would understand. Of course, she doubted that but she still hoped he would.
"Shiro!" the voice was familiar. Older. Male. Who?
The male dropped her and she fell to the floor gasping for breath. Pidge deserved to die. She was okay with dying, but being choked to death was one way she didn't want to die. If the person failed, she'd just be used for testing. She would need a clean shot or stab.
Katie heard the angry footsteps leaving. She could envision the screams, the tears, everything Shiro was going to do as soon as he got alone. The figure bent to her side and rubbed her back softly. "You okay?"
Quickly, she nodded and turned to face the figure. "Da-Samuel?"
"I'm still your Father."
Slowly, he helped her up. "Why are you helping me? I want to kill your son I'm the enemy. I killed, I killed-"
