It had been several, interesting, days since the Executioner had been caught. Since then they had caught Lance and her in many questioning positions and everyone was wondering how close were they? Just besties or something more? Then came the issue of Matt. The Executioner had to constantly be watched, no big deal, they ever acted out. Keith and Shiro were leaving the room leaving her in Matt's hands but as soon as they got to the door she ended her silence. "I will kill him if left alone. If you don't want me to kill a paladin get me away from him."
They gave Matt's watch duty to Veronica and she acted as perfect as a child pretending they weren't doing what they were doing. No one even understood that. It even resulted in them apologizing in using her as a hostage. Who the hell was she?
Then there was Romelle's funeral. After, Hunk and Shay swore they heard crying as a feminine voice said that the Altean was working for Haggard. The Couple knocked and the Executioner then not only explained what she had told Lance but then higher ups aboard the Atlas and every member of Voltron. It was decided the Executioner was lying.
Lance defended the Executioner.
Now Voltron, Coran, Shiro, Veronica, Sam, Iverson and the Executioner sat. Sat to discuss her issue towards Matt, why kill Romelle if she was fighting for the Galran empire and what the hell was going on between Lance and her.
"No. Your paladin and myself are not courting." answered the static voice "I have already sworn my life to whatever benefits the Emperor. That includes whom I court."
It was silent until Keith stood. "Then we move on. Why kill Romelle."
"I've already explained after the funeral. She worked for Haggard."
"Why kill her." hissed the paladin who still wanted to kill one of their biggest threats.
"I serve Lotor. Not Haggard."
"Admit it! Your just trying to gain our trust and back stab us!" shouted the leader "Admit it!"
"If that's my plan that I can count on your right hand man to follow me instead. Then where Lance goes, Veronica goes."
Keith turned to Lance "Would you really betray us for a murderer?" He was trying to be calm. He prepared himself to be calm. Being calm was not a strong point in Keith's personality. "Of course not! She's just trying to urk you, calm down. Besides, if," the paladin paused stopping himself. "Almost said your name. That would be bad news huh?"
"Obviously."
"Anyways, I think her plan was more like kill Matt and run for the hills."
"Why do you trust her!"
"Keith, calm down." Came Shiro's voice "Lance knows what he's doing. You're the one who decided she could chose a Voltron member."
Que the angry Paladin storming out to contact his mother followed by a disappointed Shiro after him. Hunk and Allura were whispering to themselves only to stop when Sam stood. "Why do you want to kill my son? Why kill my daughter?"
"Your son has no respect. Your daughter was weak."
"You just can't say that." hissed Veronica "I have no clue who you are to my baby brother but I agree with Keith. We should just kill her."
Lance stared at his sister but it was the Executioner who responded. "Maybe you should. I'm sure Keith would volunteer. Why don't I kill the princess or her advisor? We all know I helped kill the last Alteans. Or the one who I could just murder their child when it's born. How about the commander who is considered a hero? Or Takashi, a living legend. Better yet, why not the rest of the Holt family. If Lotor had his way, you'd all be de-"
"Time for you to go." Shushed Lance. "You trust me. As of right now, she isn't going to harm anyone. Right."
She was silent. After several awkward seconds Lance took her from the room. Everyone in the room were leaning towards Keith's idea and her little monologue wasn't helping. Matt was one of the most confused in the room. When didn't he show respect? Who did he ever hurt? Then, it hit him.
After he healed from Shiro's attack and saving him from the arena, they forced him to watch on an operation. Well, more than that. They forced him to help operate on a small child. He wasn't quite sure of her species but he knew what he did to her, and how she knew his face that looked very similar to his baby sister's. He remembered, as she caught her breath from no longer being fully herself, he chose to send her into the arena instead of himself.
Was it really that little girl from all those years? How was he supposed to tell everyone that's why he was her target? He was supposed to be a good guy, not a person who created a monster by hurting a child. What if it was her? With her blue, innocent eyes and petite hands. He needed to stop his head. He needed to talk to the Executioner.
Lance was frowning while he paced and she sat on the edge of his bed. Fingers crawling through his scalp. "You really need to learn when not to talk. Wouldn't you have gotten killed with the Galra?"
"Lotor and myself have a, complicated relationship." answered the girl whose voice wasn't recognizable due to her still wearing that cursed helmet. Lance hated it. He loved her deep curious eyes. She shouldn't hide them. "Relationship?"
"I'm not explaining Lance."
"Fine, but now they might kill you! I know you don't want to die."
"Not by Haggard."
The paladin shook his head "What did she even do to you? With Shiro it was the arm but-"
"I'm not talking about it Lance."
"You know I want to help you. And maybe it would also convince others to not kill you?"
"That's why I wanted Shiro to know. Everyone knows Haggard removed his arm and screwed him over who knows how many times."
"Stubborn."
"Funny. That's what Lotor said."
"Why would that be important?"
"Because it is to me."
The pair was silent when a rushed set of feet could be heard through the hall. A loud, almost frightened knocking echoed into the room. "Can I come in."
The Executioner flopped back onto the mattress. "Quiznak. The green paladin."
"Be nice."
"If I have to." she grumbled tempted to slay the visitor who Lance was letting in. Instead of Matt turning to Lance he instantly turned to her. "I know who you are and why you hate me."
The Executioner shot up. "What?"
Lance was pale. He was in deep shit. "You do?"
Matt took a deep breath "I, I was awful to you. I'm sorry. You were so young and you still are. I don't blame you for wanting to kill me. Mryma."
Lance gave the Executioner a lost look. What was Matt talking about? But she nodded along "I see. So you remember how you got them to, to." she stopped "When I saw your sister and they got me to fight her. It was the happiest day of my life. I could imagine hurting you for what you did to me. You don't deserve to be a paladin of Voltron. Your as bad as Haggard.
The Cuban boy coughed awkwardly "Matt, I think we need to talk, I for one had no clue you did something. Right, Mryma."
"Correct."
And so, Matthew Holt left the pair alone in Lance's room. It was time he confessed his sins. As long as he got the okay to reveal her identity. After all, he already tortured her. What he didn't know, was what happened to Mymra after he was able to escape Galran custody and join the rebels.
