Hazel's eyes fluttered open gently as she heard a knock on the door. She sat up as Jasper walked in, a sleepy smile forming on her face.
"Mornin" he smiled at her holding out a mug "I brought you coffee, Alice told me how you like it so it should be perfect."
"Guess I'm gonna have to get used to that" Hazel snorted taking the mug and taking a sip "privacy ain't a thing in this family is it?"
"Not really." Jasper smirked then pointing to the bed, Hazel nodded giving her permission for him to sit down as she brought her knees closer to her "but you know it has its perks."
"Really Tex? And what would that be?"
"I know how you take your coffee" she laughed at his response and nodded in agreement.
"Yeah I guess that is a perk" she took another sip, but got distracted as her phone buzzed. She reached and grabbed it off the bedside table, opening a text from her grandmother.
What time are you home? we need to talk.
"Everything okay darlin?" Jasper asked, noticing the frown that had appeared on Hazel's head. She just shook her head and plastered on a smile as she looked up at him.
"Peachy keen jelly bean" she winked "Grams just wanted to know what time I'll be home, do I tell her before or after I have my blood drained and join the army of the undead?"
"Definitely after, it takes a while to change" Jasper grinned, taking Hazel's hand as she placed her phone down. He gently placed his lips on the back of her knuckles "do you need to go right away?"
"She said she needed to talk to me" Hazel shrugged "so I probably do need to go soon."
"Well are you free tonight?"
"And why would you like to know Texas?"
"Well, ma'am I was wondering if I could take you out this evening" he sent her a dazzling smile which literally took Hazel's breath away "plus, I'm sure you have a thousand questions."
"Well, it's more like a thousand and one but I'll let you off" she smiled back at him. Jasper couldn't help himself, he quickly leaned in and kissed her, his hand cupping the side of her knack, pulling her closer to him. She instantly responded to his actions. He quickly manoeuvred her so she was sat on his lap, his hands holding her waist. She pulled away, breathing heavily, holding Jasper's face in her hands, noticing how his golden eyes had darkened and changed to black.
"Texas, I hate to inform you but I'm not one of these girls who puts out on the first date" she whispered, resting her forehead against his.
"Well considering we haven't even had our first date yet, I don't think you have anything to worry about." Hazel laughed at Jasper's brashness, rolling her eyes and getting off him. She had never behaved like this before, but then again she had never felt so comfortable and safe around someone she just met.
