1990

"Well Amy, I do believe that out of everyone we've talked to, you definitely are the best for this position."

Amy was seated in Randy's Records, grinning like an idiot at the interviewer in front of her.

Coming to Seattle with no plan on getting a job or some sort of income was foolish and immature of her.

She assured herself that the spontaneous moving was 100% a great idea.

"So when can I start?" She asked, her hands in her lap, fiddling with her thumbs, staring directly in to Ethan, the interviewer's, eyes.

"Well, I guess you can start today, if you really want to."

Amy nodded vigorously.

"Well Alcaster, get to sorting."

Maybe Amy wasn't suited for this job.

She loved vinyl, and being surrounded by music all day was a great idea.

But she didn't realize that Randy's Records heavily supported local bands.

And they loved Pearl Jam.

And that she'd have to listen to Eddie's voice 24/7.

Not that she didn't like his voice, but she couldn't bear to think about him after the previous week's fiasco.

Eddie and Beth were always together it seemed. If he was out the house, she was right next to him. If he wasn't there, he was with her, who knows where. It was like he was trying to prove to Amy that he never even liked her in the first place.

And it got Amy thinking: he flirted with her when she first came to Seattle, but he had to have been dating Beth at that point. But that night was worse than just blatantly flirting with each other? She couldn't wrap her head around Eddie's logic.

"You're slamming those 33s into the crate, Ames. Calm down."

Amy whipped her head up to meet some familiar blue eyes.

Chris.

Oh, how could she have forgotten about Chris?

The man kissed her and made her feel like a princess before Eddie had to ruin everything. He totally slipped from her mind.

"Chris! How are you?" Amy tackled him in a hug.

"I'm good sweets. Looks like you're doing good; you got yourself a job I see?" He smirked.

"Yeah! Now I can finally get away from everyone at home."

Chris chuckled and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "How about I take you out for dinner tonight so you can get away from them a little longer."

She looked up at him and smiled.
"I'd love to. Pick me up at 8."

Amy had put on her little black dress with fishnets and her trusty docs, and was waiting by the door for Chris.

She was tapping her feet to a non existent beat when suddenly two headlights were shining in her face.

She smiled as she saw Chris's beat up Honda roll up into the driveway. She quickly opened the door and excitedly skipped out the car.

When she reach the door, Chris was unbuckling his seatbelt with one hand, and a bouquet of sunflowers in the other.

She tapped on the window and his ocean blue eyes met hers and a huge grin broke out on his face. He reached over and unlocked her door.

"Hello Miss Alcaster." He grinned.

"Evening Mr. Cornell." She giggled as she got into the car. He extended the hand with the flowers out to her.
