"I spent all day picking these for you. It was quite tiring." He dramatically sighed. Amy grabbed them from his hand a looked at the price tag still on display.
"Walmart must of had a large selection then." She spoke.
Chris gasped. "You think I would just buy you flowers from the store?" He paused, "Because you're a 100% correct."
The pair laughed as he pulled out of the driveway and onto the road.
"So where are we going?" Amy asked after a few minutes.
"It's a surprise." Chris said mysteriously.
"Hmm. Can I get a hint?"
"Okay: it has a bar in it." Chris smirked.
Amy rolled her eyes and looked out the window, her smile still prominent on her cheeks.
The pair pulled up to an incredibly fancy restaurant, the neon sign illuminating the ground below it.
Chris parked and unbuckled his seatbelt and looked at Amy for a few seconds before he opened the door and got out. Amy followed suit and the two of them linked hands and walked into the restaurant.
A young girl sat them at a booth near a window. The place wasn't busy, so Chris and Amy felt like they had the place to themselves.
They both were reading the menus when the bell above the door chimed. Amy looked up and saw two people that she did not want to see.
Eddie and Beth.
The pair were seated two booths behind Amy and Chris, and Amy's heart was beating at 100 miles per hour.
He was here. With her.
Suddenly she felt a small weight on her wrists. She looked up and saw the ocean blue eyes she keeps falling for.
"So, what do ya want?" Chris questioned, the corners of his mouth going up.
"Prolly just a salad or somethin'..." Amy whispered. She felt light headed.
"Is everything okay?" Chris' smile vanished, "you seem frazzled."
Amy took a deep breath.
"Oh I'm fine! I just spooked myself thinking about work." She lied. She hated this.
"How is your new job, by the way?" He questioned.
"It's good! My coworker Ethan gets on my nerv-"
Suddenly, the booth behind Amy and Chris interrupted her.
"I can't do this anymore Beth!"
Amy's mouth almost fell wide open. She took a sip from her water and tried to calm herself down.
"What did I do Eddie?"
"You seriously don't know what you did?"
"No Ed! I don't fucking know what I did! How about you enlighten me, huh?"
"Sleeping around with other guys doesn't cross your mind?"
Amy almost spit out her water. She looked up at Chris to find her confusion painted across his face as well.
"H-How'd you find out about that?" Beth's voice barely above a whisper.
"Photo evidence from Jerry."
"I don't know what to say." Her voice quivered.
"Don't say anything then. Just get out." Eddie's voice was firm.
"What?"
"I said get out. Leave. Pack your shit. I don't care." He paused for a moment, "I just don't want to see you ever again."
"Eddie let me explai-"
"I don't What an explanation Beth! Just leave!" His fist hit the table.
The restaurant was silent.
Amy heard the leather of the booth shift as Beth got out and scurried out. She looked at Chris again to find him staring at her. He grabbed her hand and stroked her palm with his thumb.
The leather from the booth shifted again as Eddie got up as well. Amy held her breath as she waited for him to walk away, still staring into Chris' eyes.
But he didn't.
"Amy, we need to talk."

Hey y'all! So I'm going to go back and re-write all of the previous chapters.I know it may sound a little counterproductive seeing as though I haven't finished this story yet, but I really don't want to keep producing chapters and having to go off of a story line that I don't think is an accurate depiction of what I can write.
I'll post on my community tab for when I do update those chapters.
Thanks for reading!
