"Haven, do you still love me?"
I felt my breath stop at Cason's question and my heart began to race. I took a couple quick breaths as I tried to collect my thoughts.

"It was going good and I was so happy to be next to him. I was so happy to see him smiling and laughing and I just wanted to stay like that without any interruptions."
"What happened? Why aren't you still there?"
"He asked me if I still loved him," I said with a shaky whisper.
"What did you say?"
"I wanted to tell him yes but instead, I ran like a damn chicken."
"Oh, Haven," She whispered.
"I am so fucking mad at myself right now and I hate myself so much. I wish I could just take that back."
