Your head fell carelessly back onto the bed; you could barely sit up anymore. You couldn't stop thinking about what you had done to this poor child. You remembered what it was like to grow up with a single parent. Your mom was working most of the time and you had so much freedom for yourself it seemed dangerous at times. You're only in your sixth year, the baby would be living at Hogwarts with you while you finished your last year. This can't work.

Professor McGonagall came rushing in, wearing a tartan dressing gown and in a hair net. Considering it was one am, this outfit wasn't entirely unusual. Her lips were trembling and she kept wringing her hands together.

"Miss Y/L/N, would you please explain what the circumstances were when this incident occurred?" McGonagall asked. "I- I'm not sure what they were, Professor," you admitted. "I was intoxicated at the time but my permission was given. The next morning I couldn't stop getting sick so he brought me here, then I left. I came back last night because I felt off and I still felt nauseous. I took a pregnancy test just in case and- " You broke down.

The reality of what was happening to you truly hit at that moment. You were pregnant at sixteen, you were still in school, your mother wouldn't be able to watch the baby, and you weren't sure if you wanted to tell the father about it.

"Miss Y/L/N, if I'm correct, the father is Sirius Black?" Madam Pomfrey asked. You nodded, tears falling down your face. You curled yourself into a ball and rocked back and forth in an attempt to calm down. All that happened was you started shaking and your head began beating. "Poppy, Poppy we have to calm her down," McGonagall said. Madam Pomfrey ran over to her cabinet of potions and pulled out a clear bottle that contained a purple-ish liquid. She tossed it to McGonagall, who caught it in her right hand.

She uncorked it and held your chin up high. "Down you go, you must drink all of it," she instructed in a motherly tone. You felt the liquid tenderly slide down your throat and you immediately stopped shaking. "What was that?" you asked, relaxing your body. Pomfrey came over with another bottle, one with a dark purple potion inside. "That was to help your anxiety attack. This will give you a dreamless night's sleep, then we can discuss these topics tomorrow," she explained. You nodded your thanks and downed the bottle. Your eyelids drooped and you were fast asleep.

You woke up to churning in your stomach and you went to grab the tin you had kept at your bedside every morning. But when it wasn't there, you realized you were still in the hospital wing and had nothing to vomit into. You turned over to the other side of the bed and found an empty bucket, which you threw up in. Not glamorous, but what about this was going to be?

"Miss Y/L/N, I'm glad you're finally awake," Madam Pomfrey said, bringing over a potion for you. "How long was I out?" you asked. Your head felt better and now, so did your stomach. "A little more than half a day. I don't think you told him, but Mr. Black came by to try and visit you twice," Pomfrey said, with a hint of something in her voice but you weren't sure what. "I told him to go away but he insisted on coming back after dinner, so he'll be here in a few hours. Once classes end, I'll call for Professor McGonagall for you." Pomfrey poured the potion into a cup and handed it to you.

"Thank you," you said, taking it. "This will help stop the nausea. I don't want to overwhelm you, but there is the matter of keeping the baby or not. I know many people in your situation wouldn't want to, and understand that that is an acceptable- " "I'm keeping it, I don't care," you said firmly. "As long as I can provide for my child and have a place for them to stay until I get my own, I'll be alright." "Then I suggest that once Mr. Black comes to visit you tell him he will be a father." Pomfrey picked up your empty cup. "I'll let you think and rest until Mr. Black comes here. At which time I expect to see you explain to him what happened." You nodded. Pomfrey smiled and walked away.

Of course, Sirius will know that he's going to be a father and that you are keeping it. The problem is, you knew he came from a difficult family. Would they help you take care of your baby? Your mother wouldn't help much, you two weren't on speaking terms. His parents could watch the baby until you graduated! It was a great idea! As long as your baby was safe, everything would be alright. You smiled to yourself and rolled over, thinking of how your baby would always be happy.

You woke to a slight tapping on your shoulder and saw Professor McGonagall waiting for you.

"Y/N, I need to tell you that these circumstances are not perfect," she said, sitting on the edge of your bed. "I understand you want to keep your baby, but you are a student! You have to find a job, a home, another guardian to help you until you are out of school... there are countless reasons why it will be a challenge for you to have this baby. Not only, but the political points of You-Know-Who gaining power with little hope for defeat... a child shouldn't have to grow up in that." She gave you a pitiful smile.

"However, some trustworthy and responsible members of the Hogwarts staff have decided to help you if you decide to keep the child. Myself, Professor Dumbledore, and Professor Flitwick are a few of the volunteers who will help you through this time. Professor Flitwick has also researched a number of charms that will help you with all the pains that come with pregnancy." How could all these people be willing to help you?

You weren't the brightest or the kindest, you were the unlucky child who got stuck in this! You should deal with the consequences alone, there was no need to drag anyone with you while you drowned! Yet these brilliant souls decided they were going to help you through this challenging time. You couldn't help but smile and cry happy tears.

"Thank you, Professor. This really means a lot to me and I'll try my best." She smiled and got up from the bed. "I believe Mr. Black will be here in a few minutes?" McGonagall asked. You nodded, and at your curious expression, she said, "he's kept asking me about your whereabouts and your condition. I told him you were fine, but I'm not sure he believes me." McGonagall reached over to you and tapped your shoulder again. "Good luck, Y/N."
