AlenaAfter the whole fiasco with Bronya, Annushka, and Flash, I want to leave this wretched place.
Sure I'm here for a mission, but if I take Peter with me to the place the Red Room wants me to bring him, I might be able to escape this hell. Now I understand why people hate school so much.
I walk out of the cafeteria, with Peter in tow. "That is good you stuck up for yourself. From what I have heard and just seen, you do not do that often," I compliment Peter.
"Hey, thanks. I just don't like him picking on people, and sticking up for my friends is really important to me. But you are my friend right?" Peter asks doing a double-take.
Oh. My. God. This kid can't get any information in his head that doesn't involve school. But at least he's gullible and loyal. And if a tiny part of me feels bad for using that against him, I have try to squash it. Or the Red Room will for me.
"Of course I am silly! Going to a new school, and not making any friends on the first day, is a bad mistake to make, especially in high school. But since we have that project I think we should start on it soon. Do you have a time you would be free?" I suggest to Peter.
"That's a good idea. I'm sure that getting a head start will hopefully get us a good grade. But I have the Stark Internship after school all week, but I think on Saturday I should be fine. I'll just have to cancel plans with Ned. But he'll understand," Peter replies.
I basically have him wrapped around my finger, and I if we're turn him in right now, he would be so lovesick he be wouldn't be able to be mad at me for it.
"Yes, Saturday is perfect. Yours or mine?" I ask him.
"What?" He seems confused. I can't recall what I had said that can confuse him until I realize that saying 'yours or mine' isn't common in America.
"Oh sorry. In Canada, we say yours or mine instead of your place or mine. It's just easier." He nodded.
"Oh okay, umm whatever I don't care. You're welcome to come to my place if you want," Peter has a calculating gaze behind his eyes he is desperately trying to hide.
"How about we go to yours my house is a mess, and my cousins will not let us focus. If that is alright with you," I explain.
"You live with your cousins?" Peter wonders.
I nod silently cursing myself for letting information slip. "Yeah, it makes it easier so that our families do not have to find different houses and just sharing one is so much less rent to pay."
It isn't truly lying. And if Annushka and Bronya are there they'd do anything to sabotage my mission. And I can't fail. Sure I'm not as emotionally involved in the mission and am having second guesses, but I must prove my loyalty to the Red Room. And I have to get Peter to tell me he's Spider-Man.
Peter nods. I see Bronya down the hall talking with Lenaya. She seems to be hiding her frustration, and Lenaya is confused. He doesn't seem to understand something.
"Just because I passed out does not mean I need to go to the nurse!" Bronya defends herself.
That reeks of trouble. "But Brandy she needs to check up on you! What if there's something wrong?" Lenaya asks.
Bronya is screwed. If Bronya goes to the nurse she would have to tell her what's in her blood. And even we don't know what's in it. All we know is it's not all just blood. But the Red Room will never let us know that secret.
"Wait, Brandy passed out?" Peter asks me. He seems to be very talkative and unlike the file when he's around me. He acts as if he's letting his curiosity take control of his words.
