Annushka

I make my way down the street with Perseus following me. I take my slug off of my back and turn around the corner. I wait for him to follow, and when he does I fire. It hits him right in the left leg. I continue running, and call Alonya through my com.  A white Ferrari pulls up around the corner. Just as I'm about to jump in the driver's seat, I feel something sharp pierce across my back. I scream in rage and pain as a sword hooks itself into the street behind me. I lean against the seat when I notice Bronya is coming up behind me. I wait for her in agonizing pain, and the second she gets in the car I drive off towards the airport. I can feel the blood trickling down the seat and my head loses weight, but I don't let it take over me.

I hear sirens behind us, and say, "Alonya can you give me directions to the airport? The short way, and also make sure that it is a route that the police do not know."

"On it," the A.I. responds. The hologram shows up in the cup holder, and besides the directions from Alonya, the drive is silent.

It takes about ten minutes to reach the airport. From there, I send the car on its side, and Bronya and I jump out, and over the fence with police sirens not too far behind. We roll on our shoulders and continue running along the runway of the airport. I rub my shoulder after landing on it but still run as fast as I can. Bronya matches my pace, and we search all the runways for the plane we could recognize. I finally find it, but it's the jet and not the plane. I guess they really were in a hurry.

The jet lands, and we run just a bit behind it. It comes to a stop, and we keep running. The hatch has already come down by the time we reach it, and some of the girls have gotten off. Madame was standing there when she sees us. We come to a stop, and catch our breath a bit until Madame makes us talk.

"Yes?" She asks her sharp Russian stinging my ears.

"All the Elite have fallen. We were the only two left. We fought our way out to avoid capture. We underestimated them and their allies," I report. Madame looks down at us.

"If what you say is true. Then it would be a waste of time. Get on the plane and we shall discuss everything," Madame orders us. The girls filing off the plane turn around, and we get on after them. Madame follows us, and takes her cold hands and sits us in two seats on the other side of the red curtain. We place our hands down on the armrests readying for them to lock, but they don't. Madame sits across from us, and tells us, "You both have disappointed, and been praise able to the Red Room for your actions. You both avoided capture when our best agents could not stop a group of teenagers and their allies. But have you both completed your missions?" I nod, and Bronya does as well. The plane takes off.

"He still has no idea of anything about me. I gave him to Taya, Tasha, and Tiana, and all three took care of him," I report. Madame nods.

"I took him to Tasha, Taya, and Tiana after escaping an hour-long capture from the DIA, which is how we got the layout, and address of the building to attack. He was unconscious when he was turned in and the tracker was placed on him," Bronya tells her tale, and I can tell she is trying not to smile of her accomplishment. Madame nods. At this point, we had reached a steady altitude.

"Good work to both of you. You shall test to become spies upon our arrival. As of now," Madame stands up and grabs two medical kits off of a shelf on the other side of the room. She hands one to each of us. "Treat your wounds, and change into fresh clothing. There is a small washroom on the other side of that door." She gestures to the red door to the left on the opposite wall. "Change into fresh clothes, and put your gear in the cases on the shelves." And with that Madame walks into through the door on the right on the opposite wall.

Bronya stands up, and says to me, "Strange that we are becoming spies before Elite. But I guess if all the Elite and spies were at the battle- we may be all there is left." She pauses. "I will use the washroom first." I nod, and we both take off our gear. She disappears through the door to the washroom, and I start to clean my wounds. Firstly, I wash off the blood, or what I can through the gashes in my suit. I then take the disinfectant and rub it on the wounds. It stings, but I'll live. I then stitch what I can together, and bandage what needs to be bandaged. I can feel a gash on my back, but Bronya can help with that when she is done in the washroom.

A few seconds later, Bronya walks out of the washroom and is in her uniform of form-fitting gray clothing. Her straight blonde hair is down and parted down the middle. It ends up to be longer than her torso. But she does have a small torso either way. I walk into the washroom and bathe in the cool water. I make sure to be gentler on the areas I had stitched, and take off the bandages. I get out of the tub and dry my curly hair. I put it in the classic Red Room bun, and slide on the form-fitting gray clothing. It felt strange to wear it after being on a mission for two months and be able to wear whatever Annabeth would have worn. But Annabeth was gone for good now.

I walk out of the washroom and see Bronya stitching up her wounds. I get the bandages out and wrap my cuts that I couldn't get the bleeding to stop. The silence is almost overwhelming, and my ears start to pop, but there is still silence. Until Bronya breaks it with smooth Russian. "Could you help me stitch up my back?" I nod and walk over to her from the seat I was in.

I stitch up her back wounds and can feel her tense every time the needle pierced her skin. When I finished, she pulled the back of her shirt down and turned around. "I saw you get that one cut. Let me stitch it up for you," Bronya orders. I turn around and she winces when she sees the cut. "It will take time," Bronya tells me. I wince as she traces the outline. "Whatever did this to you?" She asks me.

"Perseus threw his sword at me when I was getting in the car. It grazed, but it hurts like Hades," I confess.

"I am sure it did," Bronya says a little warily. She starts stitching me up, and I wince every time that she pierces my skin. It takes her about twenty minutes to finish and had gone over the stitching at least three times. I had bit my tongue to keep from shouting out to the point where it's slightly bleeding.

When Bronya finished, I look at the time on the phone I had kept from the mission. We have been on the jet for an hour. Thirteen more to go. I sit in my seat and try to get comfortable. I end up letting exhaustion take over, and I fall asleep.
