It's the second break of the school or in my case, lunchtime. I put some things into my locker and it stays open, as I sort some things out. Once I shut the door, I turn my head to the right to see a specific figure.

"Good Afternoon! How was the class for Miss L/n?"

"Never call me that again."

Freddy Freeman, my best friend, laughs and I laugh with him. "Seriously, how was the last period?" He asks as I shut my locker.

"It was alright I guess. Not too awful."

Me and Freddy walk along the hall. He taps his crutch along as he's got an alright speed so I walk a comfortable pace beside him.

"How was class for my best friend?" I nudge him.

"You should never say that again."

"Weoew." I laugh. He smiles as we walk into the cafeteria.

"Hows the..." He points referring to his back. And it clicks almost instantly.

The black wings.

"They were playing up a bit before which kind of annoyed me. I've discovered that they seem to play up or trigger a bit if there's a high feeling of true threatening or...unsafety around."

His eyes widen. "That's like a Spider-Sense! Sensing danger!! That's so cool!" I grin as his eyes sparkle.

"Do you also feel that around your Dad?" He asks hesitantly.

My face falls as we sit at a table with some random boys. Sure enough, they leave the table. Like they always do. I roll my eyes.

"I mean. Every night if I'm being honest."

I sigh, poking at the food on the cafeteria tray we both picked up.

"Sorry for asking."

"No. It's fine." I turn to him. "I'm glad you asked. It just shows that when I'm around you or Mary or Darla or even when you guys invite me over sometimes, there's a feeling of safety and reassurance there. I can kind of tell the difference, you have a good family."

He smiles faintly and I smile back at him, as we sit by each other.

"If you need to get some space from your home again, Rosa will be happy enough to let you stay the night. It's Friday after all so the weekend is so possible!"

I chuckle as he begins to start rambling. "Speaking of possible, do you want to try out on the weekend to see if we can find any superpowers of yours?"

"Freddy." I laugh lightly. "All I have is wings. I don't think I have superpowers."

"But you have dark magic which is meant to be evil but you're really nice so you could turn the darkness into something else and show that it's not as evil as it seems. Just like the dark aura or the fear of shadows, you can be like a superhero! Overcome your greatest enemy! The fear of shadows and turn the dark aura into good! You could be the first superhero with dark magic!"

I merely grin at his geekiness as his eyes beam. "Saturday? Please! You're my best friend!"

"I'll think about it, Freddy." I turn to him and tell him this with a gentle smile on my lips. The bell goes and it's time for the final class of the day. Me and Freddy turn to each other and I nod my head. "I'll see you tomorrow. But I'm still gonna think about it."

"Thanks, Y/n! Bye-Bye!"

He grabs his walking stick as the two of us go off in different directions out of the school's cafeteria. I smile to myself as I trot off. It's always possible especially with him, his 'training' always ends up turning into some kind of childish fest.
