Aurora Borealis ? Billy Batson x Reader

"Aufff! Pfft pfft! MAYA!!"

She backs away from me as I sit up, wiping my hand over my face. "Seriously?"

She chirps and I roll my eyes. She always has her ways of saying good morning. I decide to get up, and change into some clothes suitable for school. I throw on my hoodie and pack stuff for school before grabbing my bag and walking downstairs.

"Morning, Y/n!" Darla waves.

"Morning. How'd you guys sleep?"

Billy turns his attention to me, as Freddy smiles. Both boys having breakfast today. Freddy knows I always skip breakfast but I hope Billy doesn't get suspicious about it.

"Are you gonna pack any lunch for school today, Y/N?"

"Uh..."

Rosa turns to me requesting an answer. "N-Nah. I'll just buy something at school."

"Oh. Ok." She then turns back to the kitchen and I sigh.

Phew.

"So, is everyone ready for school today?" Victor asks with a smile. I notice that Billy is still staring at me so I look over at him. He blushes and turns back to Freddy. Hmmm...

"I'm excited to show my new big brother to the school!" Darla squeaks.

Eugene is playing video games as Mary is on the phone and Pedro seems to have stolen some food and hidden them in his room.

"Die! Die! Die peasant boar warrior!"

"I mean. It's gonna be alright." Billy says to Victor, trying to ignore Eugene shouting.

"Of course it will be! We'll all be going to school together!" Darla cheers.

 "I think so too!" Mary cheers, getting off the phone to fetch some breakfast.

"Eh." Pedro shrugs. I roll my eyes.

"Are you gonna get some breakfast at least?" Billy asks me.

He's suspicious.

I shake my head. "I'm not really a breakfast person."

"Right..."

The morning speeds by a bit quicker. I help Darla pack somethings in her bag and make Eugene put the game down before going to school. I decide to leave Maya with Rosa and Victor.

"Bye, kids! Have a good day at school!"

"We will!" Mary waves.

"Probably..." Pedro responds.

All seven of us step out the house, Billy pulling his hoodie over his beanie head. I walk beside him and he flashes me a smile of acknowledgment which I nod my head.

It's winter and snowing so I'm really glad we don't have a school uniform. Because if we did, we would probably be freezing. 

I don't know what it is about Billy but he's definitely smart. He knows what goes on around him and I can see he's suspicious of me not having any food. Freddy has gotten used to it after me 'reassuring' I wouldn't eat breakfast at their place and that I had food for the day.

Sometimes I did. Sometimes I didn't. He didn't seem fazed, so he let it slide. But Billy is different. And I don't hate this, he's different from anyone I've ever met...

"Big school. 2,000 students." Darla begins to speak to Billy as she's on the other side of him. He pulls a face, hands in his pockets.

"You might think, wow, so many strangers. But not if you think of them as possible future friends. Then it's Wow. So many friends."
