I get out of the house first and wait in a bush for Y/n to leave her house. Call it creepy but I want to walk with her to school today. Make sure she's okay.

And we got that stupid idea of Freddy's today too. Ugh.

I see Y/n walk out the house with a sad expression on her face and she walks onto the pavement, showtime.

I quickly run-up to her and alarmed, she flips her head back at me.

"Hey!" I exclaim and wrap my arms around her. She giggles and hugs me back. I see she hasn't got that wack Japanese bracelet on so that's a plus.

"What are you doing here?" She asks me.

"I wanted to walk to school with you." I shrug casually which makes her smile. Seeing her smile makes me happy so I smile back.

"Hey, there you two are." Freddy calls over. I let out a huff and Y/n rubs the back of her neck as he waddles over to us. He's still our friend but hopefully, he's nicer today.

"Wanna go to school?" His eyes sparkle at us.

"Sure, let's go." Y/n nods.

With that, all three of us walk to school. I walk close beside Y/n as there's an awkward silence with all three of us, and me and Y/n make our way up the stairs. I have a can of Red Bull in my hands and want to make the joke about the wings thing because Y/n has a can as well. But Freddy doesn't have one, more so trailing behind us.

As Freddy walks ahead of me with a low look on his face, I can tell he's still displeased. Why should I even bother if he'll act like this?

I shrug my shoulders and sighs, shaking my head in disapproval. Y/n stops beside me and sighs.

"Why are we still doing this?" I ask. "Shouldn't you be worried about other things like your best friend?"

Y/n blushes at me and I flash her a smile. She deserves more love in the world. She deserves better.

Freddy sighs and turns to face us both in a zip then looks at us like we're dumbasses. Great. "Well, you can't skip every day."

"Not at your age." Y/n shrugs. Freddy straight up ignores her. She backs up a bit and stands by me.

"But hey, we're not your age anymore." I shrug, pulling at Y/n's sleeve. I back away and she hesitantly holds off, I give her a look and whisper to her. "Come on."

She takes a deep breath and nods her head, before following me.

"Uh-But I can go with you!" Freddy begs. "We just gotta trick the guard out, you know? BILLY! Y/N WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?"

I turn to look back at him for a moment, my hand laced with Y/n's. But that's it. That's when I see something in his eyes. It's not anger. Pain. Loneliness.

It's jealousy.

He doesn't need to be jealous.

"You're still gonna have lunch with me, right!?"

We both ignore him as we walk down the path away from the school and I feel Y/n loosen up as we walk away. Thank God.

"Hey, it'll be okay." I nudge her.

"I know." She gulps. "I'm just feeling very ill." Her voice croaks out raspy and it sounds like she has a damn cold, which seriously catches me off guard.
