"I mean, it's a pretty sick view." Billy comments. "I totally get why Rocky was training so hard to get up here."
We continue to eat chips as Freddy glances at Billy then me. He seems really happy. Maya keeps quiet, her eyes shut peacefully as she snoozes on my lap.
"You know, I like you two like this. It's so cool. My best friend and my new brother are superheroes."
We both turn to him. "I mean, no offense, but like, at first you were kinda like the opposite of how Darla is."
Billy lets out a huff and I give him a reassuring look to make sure he's alright. He sees this and flashes me a smile.
"A dick?"
"Your words. Not Freddy's. Nice job." I yawn, but Billy doesn't seem too offended. He grins.
"But, yeah."
We sit there in a moment of silence, the three of us at the top of the stairs. "Okay, well I feel like every criminal is either on drugs or asleep by now."
I shrug my shoulders. I'm...I like my powers. I don't want this to end just yet. Freddy sees the look on my face and nudges me.
"Hey, this isn't over. You're both heroes. Even if you are the element of darkness. Darkness can be lighter, which is what we're gonna do for you tomorrow."
"What does that mean?" Billy asks.
"I'll find a way for her to use her darkness power during the day so you both have equal fun so Billy can't hoard it all."
"Gee. Thanks."
We all go into a small fit of giggles before Freddy shrugs.
"Yeah. Tomorrow. We'll need a name for Y/n. And for you too. But she also needs a suit and something anything to try and have the ability to use her power during the day. From what I can tell, it seems like some sort of anti-solar panel because I would train with her all the time to see if she has anything and we always were in pure daylight. It makes sense to me now why it didn't work."
Freddy then turns to me. "You said your Dad is the only other person besides me who knows about your wings, right?"
"Correct."
"See if you can go to your house tomorrow to see if he's hiding anything from you in the spare or his bedroom."
"That's snooping isn't it?" Billy asks alarmed.
"Not if it belongs to her."
I bite my lip nervously. I have no memories of my life before I was like, four to seven years old. If Dad knows I found something to do with my powers let alone catch me in the act, he might literally kill me.
"We'll figure it out tomorrow. Wanna head home? She's staying the night again because you did a disappearing act."
"So it's my fault?" Billy asks.
"Yes and no. It's probably good she's staying the night anyway. Now that all this crazy stuff happened tonight."
"So...we go back to your place now?" I ask curiously.
"Looking like this?" Billy asks referring to his adult suit.
"Well, yeah, I mean, usually, we'd have a lair to go back to, but that's long term." Freddy says.
"Maybe I can distract Rosa or Victor so Freddy can sneak you in. Otherwise, we'll have to figure out how to get you back to normal before you go back."
"She's got a point. That might be our only option. For now, we've got a bunk bed but if you're not changed back by the end of the night, you and Y/n might have to switch sleeping places."
