~14~ Winter Wonders

"Well your fucked because I'll just leave you for food. At the side shop."

"Freddy what the hell!" I laugh. Billy chuckles and Freddy laughs as well, just as we cross the road and see my house.

"I'll say goodbye to you two here. That's my house in the distance." I say referring to the spoopy house.

"Okay. Take care. See you in an hour?" Freddy says to me. Billy gives me a glance and I smile at both of the boys.

"Yea. I promise. See you two in an hour."

They both wave off and I turn around, walking toward my house. I open the door and proceed to walk into the house.

I hear a cough, which catches my attention. Dad. I can already smell the alcohol and cigarette breath from me which makes me want to hurl.

"Who were those two boys out there?" My Father asks, walking over to me. "Are they Mary's family, the many boys in that family?"

I gulp as he walks around and behind me. My father puts his hands on my lower arms.

"Are you...dating any of those boys?"

I blush, instantly thinking of Billy. Do I have feelings for Billy? I can never seem to stop thinking about him and every time I see him...my heart flutters.

"No, Dad. They're just friends."

He chuckles, quite lowly. I shiver. "You are a little girl. If you do anything with those boys...I will know. I will find out. All your, dirty, little, deeds."

His hands have moved up to my shoulders and I shudder. His grip instantly tightens which I let out a squeak.

"Next time I see you with those boys! If I ever catch you, making intimacy with either boy! I will pun-"

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" My mother yells at him which gives me the chance to push away from my father. "HEY! HEY! OI!"

I slam my bedroom door shut which Maya jolts awake. I take a sharp breath in as she barks at me a couple of times, as if asking what the hell just happened.

I turn to her and she gives me a hurt glance. Literally.

I see her limping, one paw in the air. Her ear seems like it was damaged. Her eye is still winking or shut. Her side has a cut. 

She's been hurt while I was at school.

I scream as I hear a bang on my door and I quickly lock it. My Mother screams at my Father as I back away from the door.

She whimpers, hobbling over to me. I decide to pack a bag with a medkit, house keys, arm pieces, and storage pack. Throwing on some warm winter clothing, I grab a fuzzy checked jacket, fingerless gloves, and a beanie.

I put Maya in my bag and she whimpers again, before I go over to the window and hopping down with a thud. In one swift movement, I start running over to Freddy and Billy's, as the argument of voices fades out of distance.

I knock on the door, which Billy opens it up.

"Hey, Y/n!"

"Hey. Can I please speak to Rosa and Victor real quick?"

Billy notices the nervousness in my voice and frowns. "Why. What happened?"

"It's about Maya."

"Oh! The thing that never barks!" Eugene calls out.

"She does bark! She's just young!" Mary scolds.
