AUGUST P.O.V. –
I woke up to somebody softly kicking me with their foot. I opened my eyes looking around trying to see where I was at. I wiped my hand down my face and squinted through the light, at the sight of some nigga standing in front of me.
“I need to get behind here bruh.”
I looked to both sides of me and saw that I was sandwiched between two washing machines.
“My bad.” I stood up. My clothes that were so neat from earlier were obviously dishelved, and an empty bottle of Hennessey was at my foot.
“You aight bruh?” The dude asked me. I then realized it was the plumbing nigga.
“Ye…yeah I’m good.” I picked up the empty bottle.
“I thought you was dead for a minute.” He laughed. “I kept telling you to wake up and you didn’t.”
“What time is it?” I realized I didn’t have nothing on me. No phone. No keys. No nothing.
“Uhh about midnight.”
“Midnight? Damn. How long I been down here?”
“I just came down here. No clue bruh. No clue. ” He pushed the machine out so he could get to the back.
I felt a rumble in my stomach.
“You good?” He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.
I threw up right on the floor where I was. I knew it was the whole bottle of Hennessey I drank.
“Ahh shit.” He looked at his pants leg that was covered with my throw up.
“My bad.” I said trying to catch my breath, but more came out.
“Nigga!” He stood up disgusted.
I held my stomach to make sure no more had to come out. It was mainly liquid because I hadn’t eaten anything all day. He went to a closet, got out some gloves, paper towels and cleaning solution.
“I ain’t the janitor bruh. You gon have to clean this up.”
I took it from him, got on my knees and started cleaning it up. He ran water in a sink in the laundry room, wet a towel and cleaned off his pants.
“You better be glad I ain’t got on no good shit. What the hell is wrong with you? Why you down here anyway?” He said cleaning off his pants.
“I can’t go home right now man.” I looked like a total bum. I had throw up all on my shirt and pants. My entire outfit was wrinkled. My hair was even a mess.
“Cheating?” He looked over at me.
“Why a nigga always gotta cheat? No. I don’t cheat on my girl.”
“She kicked you out?” He cut off the water and threw the towel in the trash.
I shook my head. “Nah.” I stopped cleaning and sat down with my knees up and put my arms over my knees.
“I got expelled from school man.”
“Damnnnnnnn. What you do?”
“The dentist I worked for lied on me to save her ass. So not only am I out of a job, I’m out of school too and I don’t know how to tell my girl.”
