(A/N So umm yeah... I took the link off of NaNo because honestly I'm always embarrassed when it comes to my ships, especially because this book of oneshots literally has a problematic ship right in the beginning! The first ship you see is problematic and I don't want anyone that might know me on NaNo to judge me lol. Anyways, a lot happened yesterday and I'm just really tired but you know you can't skip a day of NaNo for anything so I just have to truck through and try to write at least 2,500 words. Hopefully. Last year, I made the daily goal of 5,000 words but you can only do so much with oneshots and prompts so yeah XD I honestly have completely run out of ideas already, I had to sit for 5 minutes thinking of a ship to do and so I did Rhack... another problematic ship... great. This year's NaNo is already becoming a great one XD I feel like it would've been easier to just create an entirely new story. Oh well! Can't stop now! So yeah, Imma do Rhack but I don't want anything remotely canon because I'm a fluff lover so you know what? I'm gonna do a coffee shop AU like a basic! I can't help it .-. I'm obsessed with these beautiful cliche' AUs... next thing you know I'm gonna do a soulmate AU lol... Anyways, I get too carried away with writing my thoughts that I probably should've just done a diary for NaNo this here :P Okay, I'm gonna stop and get to the actual oneshot... hope you like it or just give me criticism or something! <3) It was a cold Fall afternoon, the wind was crisp and cool and the trees were spotted with red and yellow. The crunch of leaves was heard whenever you walked and plenty of children ran around outside with warmer and bulkier attire to fit the colder weather. In the buildings and shops that lined the streets, people went inside to save themselves from the cold and plenty were drinking hot cocoa or coffee. The pumpkins and Halloween decorations that decorated the houses were quickly replaced by Christmas; snowmen, sleighs, reindeer, and Christmas trees appeared seemingly overnight. Halloween just ended, what is everybody doing? The man thought as he walked down the sidewalk, he noted that it was getting cold enough that he could see his breath puff out in front of him; It was a cold Halloween the day before, that was for sure. His mechanical arm was burning his shoulder and torso even covered under layers of warm clothing and he quickly sped-walked to a nearby coffee shop to take a break and warm up. He sighed in relief as he felt the warm air blast his face immediately after he stepped inside the nice-smelling shop. He sat down in one of the nearest tables and rubbed his skin and metal to try and warm up his metallic arm, flinching from the ice cold burn. He managed to warm up his arm enough to the point where it didn't burn and hurt on touch and decided that that was good enough. He was about to get up and leave the shop to continue his journey when he stopped himself in thought; he would seem pretty weird if he just left the shop without buying anything after just running in. Clearly, part of him knew better and knew that no one even payed attention to him most likely, but most of his mind was already convinced that he had made a scene or something. Well, it wouldn't hurt to warm up even more and get a drink - he wasn't going to be late if he stayed for a little bit longer. After finding a reason for why he could stay just a couple minutes longer, he set his bag down onto the seat he was just sitting at and walked to the cashier to order. The cashier was a nice woman and he thanked her and payed for his coffee before sitting back down to wait for his order to come up. He grabbed his laptop out of his bag seeing that if he was going to stay here for awhile, he might as well finish up some of his work and lessen the load for today. His name was called and he went up to see a different cashier, they must have switched while his order was being made. He was about to thank the man and take his coffee when the man striked up an awkward conversation, "So the man who rushed in like a thousand raks were chasing him actually ordered? I thought you were just going to creep around and then leave!" The entire look of the cashier contrasted with his sarcastic and smug voice and Rhys did not like it at all, he fought down his embarrassment and tried to speak in a calm voice, "It sounds like you're the creep if you're staring at a guy when he walks in." "Well it's kind of my job to know who's coming in and out of my cafe' if I am a cashier." The man shot back without having to think for a second. "Well, it's still weird..." Rhys paused before adding frantically, "And I was NOT running in here like a 'bunch of Rak were chasing me' as you so eloquently put it! I merely walked into here because I needed to warm up and I'd prefer to have my coffee please." The cashier made no move to give Rhys his coffee and decided to keep it hostage for a little longer, "Yeah, why did you go here to get away from outside? It's not like it's freezing outside and you seem to have plenty to keep you warm," Rhys was slightly confused with anything the man said but just tried to answer to get his coffee and leave, "If you 'oh so need to know' I kind of have a metal arm which I would think is a conductor and starts to burn my skin whenever it's slightly warm or cool." He let more of his anger and annoyance slip into his tone than he would've preferred and that seemed to make the cashier smirk. "Yeah okay, you got me," The cashier shrugged and finally let the captive of a coffee go, Rhys basically snatched it and glared at the cashier before leaving. He quickly packed his bag again and walked out of the store, a little more self-conscious about himself than he probably should've been. That was one of the strangest and admittedly interesting conversations he'd had, even if it was slightly infuriating. It was like that cashier was just trying to get under his skin for fun! He cleared his mind and walked to his job, the coffee thankfully keeping his right arm from getting unbearably cold.
His job was as tedious and methodically boring as ever, his friends Yvette and Vaughn being the people who tethered him to the ground; they were really the only people that kept him from just leaving his job. Rhys got saddled with any work Hugo didn't want to do and he couldn't say a thing at risk of being fired. Almost everyone who worked there were snobs , rude, both, or just monotone and tired. People thought they were the greatest just for working at Hyperion, even better than the other people who worked at Hyperion, it was just a pool of terribleness. The only things that kept Rhys going and kept him working there were his previously mentioned friends, his pay, and the prospect of being promoted and maybe, just maybe, give Hugo some orders for a change.
(A/N Okay, so I'm gonna make some unexpected changes and makes this a part 1 because oh my god I just don't feel like writing! I still have so much homework which includes writing and it's already 5 so I need to have some time to do that, eat, and everything else I need to do before sleeping like play some Borderlands lol. Yeah, I'm obsessed with Borderlands right now as well so of course I had to write something for the problematic ship Rhack! I didn't look at the proper spelling for the rak so I hope I'm spelling it correctly :L Another thing is that I need to start working on a playlist for NaNo XD I've just been using my spotify favorite songs playlist which is a terrible choice because it keeps diverting my attention away from writing so that I could just appreciate and listen to the song. I actually think that the last paragraph really does fit Rhys' character and I just... ughh I didn't think at all when I thought about a Rhack oneshot. "Seriously, all I thought of was Rhack, okay well I need more than that, how about a coffee shop AU? It would have to be completely off-canon but that's alright, you know how about we keep just a little bit of stuff like Raks? Sure, what else do we do with the coffee shop AU like who's the cashier and who's the customer? Oooo how about we make it where it's Rhys still working at Hyperion! Really listen, we need to know these important detail if we're going to write about it! Nah, just deal with it as it goes." And now I'm just like, "Yeah okay, how do I actually turn this into a more romantic thing? I didn't think this through at all..." So yeah, I'm already hurting. lol. Oh well! Deal with it as it comes! So, I've decided to make a pattern; oneshot, prompt, oneshot, prompt. So part 2, even if no one's probably even looking forward to it, isn't going to be tomorrow but day after tomorrow! Okay, I think I've rambled to much like seriously I would've easily gotten 50,000 words by now if I just did a journal thing. Well, I hope you had fun reading and I hope you have a good day! Bai! :D <3 )

FanfictionHey so uh, this is literally a multi-fandom oneshots book but I also might just write story prompts on here. This is for NaNoWriMo but I'll probably still write on here after it's over. (I wanted a calm month for this year)
