(A/N Okay, so I never said that I would just stick with Rhack and that is what I'm doing right now lol. I've become obsessed with A Hat in Time over the span of last weekend and I want to write something about it. Keep in mind that this fanfiction is supposed to be during the Seal the Deal DLC and I haven't completed it, in fact I don't know much about it lol, so please don't be mad if it's like... not canon X3 I mean if you are reading this, you probably know how much I twist and morph canon into an entirely different entity so I hope you won't mind!)

Hat Kid was running around the cruise ship, of course she had wound up making herself another servant and she was now rushing against time to try and finish as many tasks as possible. Surprisingly, most of her friends were on the cruise ship with her, trying to have their own vacation. Theirs were going great, her's not so much. She dashed around the place, grabbing dirty dishes and giving people their orders when she saw a small fluff of yellow.

She stopped suddenly and the dishes came crashing down, she groaned and started to pick up the ones the weren't smashed to pieces. As Hat Kid was trying to stack her dishes again, she saw the yellow ball again and managed to get a closer look at it. It seemed like a strange child version of the conductor, then she was smacked in the face by her own brain when she remembered that the Conductor said he had grandchildren. It's actually weird to think of the Conductor as anything than a dirty mouthed, train conductor and film director.

She scrutinized the tiny ball of energy that was struggling to get out of her hands, why was it down here? Where even was the Conductor? She hadn't seen him yet, that's for sure. She decided to take the rowdy child with her and kept doing her job while looking for the Conductor or a place where the children were supposed to go. She was about to give up with the still yelling child when she spotted the conductor when she was dumping the dirty plates she had collected. Of course he was basically piss drunk, that's some great... grandparenting there Conductor. Hat Kid readjusted her grip on the child and walked up to the yellow dinosaur-looking bird haughtily. The man was clearly drinking himself to death and he didn't seem to notice her until she started to talk to him, "Conductor, what're you doing here?" He talked but didn't look at her, "Ah guess you're gettin a vacation too, ah can't be botherred right now. Ah just wanna let me worries go." He waved a clawed hand as if to shoo away any of the 'worries' he was talking about, Hat Kid looked at him unimpressed, "You have grandchildren wandering around the boat unsupervised! In fact, one's here right now." He looked when she talked about the writhing monster in her care, he was clearly surprised, "Ah! How in the-- Why is he here!" He suddenly went to the more dull, uncaring voice he had before, "Yes, just uh put 'im in that play pen upstairs."

Hat Kid, clearly not going to get anything else from the man, left to find whatever kid's play area he was talking about. She couldn't find it and asks one of the seals for help, they gladly showed her the way with their adorable little faces and voices. Thus, she began another task over her previous waitress duty, trying to find those weird children and bring them back to the play pen.

The amount of work that Hat Kid in the span of an hour was enough to make anyone insane, she zipped around to follow the demands of the bossy visitors when she was supposed to be a visitor herself, and at the same time she had to keep a close eye all around her for any of the grandchildren. She finally saw another one of the children, their weirdly shaped... beaks, lack of eyes, and furry... ear... things. She dashed through the crowd, getting pushed along the way by them, and snatched the fluffy child before it could get out of her sight. She sighed in relief when her hands touched the soft body before it could get away, they child saw her and tried to run from her. It was apparently a game to this one, not unlike hide and seek, "I don wanna be seekerr," it said in a very tiny, high-pitched voice. Hat Kid's heart turned to putty at the child, so much like the Conductor but still very adorable, "You can be a hiderr, playing hide and seek with your other siblings." She tried to jokingly roll her 'r's like the Conductor, apparently some of the kids rolled their 'r's too so that's weird.
