Problems (AHiT FanFic)

Start from the beginning

The kid didn't put up any more fuss as she got her scooter thanks to that handy badge salesman and she went on her wive to drive the child to the play pen. She passed the Conductor again and yelled, "Take care of your grandchildren!" She kind of immediately regretted it as the Conductor seemed to sink lower when she said it, but she wouldn't admit and I mean it was the truth whether he knew it or not. She placed the calm child down and watched them play with the other kids she had managed to find.

She honestly had no idea how many grandchildren the weird raptor bird had so she just always had to be on the lookout for more. As she was dashing to continue her rushed job, she passed by a familiar box. A psst swiftly came from the box and she skidded to a halt, she needed to stop doing that because her shoes were getting torn up by these planets' stupid rough terrain. She walked towards the large crate and saw a yellow eye through a hole, "Hey kid! I see that you're doing errands!" Hat Kid crossed her arms and looked at Snatcher, a strange friend to say the least, "And what of it?" Snatcher spluttered, "W-What of it? I was just seeing if you needed help but nooo, clearly I am not wanted here so I'll just shut up and you can go on your own way with no support at all..." Hat Kid sighed, "What do you need?" Snatcher's eye illuminated from the hole again, "Atta' girl! I'm willing to give you some help if you can... give me a book I want," Hat Kid waited for him to continue, "You see, I'm on vacation and I don't plan on leaving this box to ruin that, so I'm not grabbing that book myself--" "So where is it?" Hat Kid interjected with a smile, it was strange to think that stealing a book was fun, but it was a million times better than what she was currently doing and she would kill to leave. Snatcher laughed, "There you go! This is a very special book, it's in the captain's lodge. I'm sure you'll know it when you see it but just in case you don't, it's a purple book that should be locked, it uhh doesn't have a cover really it's just completely blank with a padlock." Hat Kid had to think about it, was she really going to risk doing more work for the captain just to get out of this work for a couple of minutes? Of course the answer was yes.

She nodded, "Okay, I can do that! We aren't making a deal?" She could see Snatcher's hand waving, "No no! I'm not going to do any contract signing this vacation, just trust." Hat Kid did not like that part, it meant that he could back out of the deal after she got the book, but she just huffed as Snatcher didn't seem to pay attention to the outside world anymore. She started running to her destination, her feet rapping on the hard wood floor loudly.

She didn't exactly care about the hundreds of guests she almost ran over in her sprint, in hindsight stealing a book isn't that exciting either but I mean, it was different than what she had been doing for the past hour and a half so it would work. She skidded to halt, again cursing herself for not slowing to a stop and ruining her shoes more. There she was, in front of a door signed 'staff cabins'. Underneath that was 'No visitors beyond this door'. I mean, she's been running around doing chores for the past hour and a half so hey, she is totally a staff member right? She made sure no seal was looking, and stepped into the quiet hallway of cabins.

She tried to tiptoe as quickly as she could, she stealthily hid behind everything, made everything super dramatic. One time, she had to dive behind a desk before a seal saw her, her gun hand was shaking with adrenaline from something that might have just cause a slap on the wrists. She slowly made her way to the end of the hall where the captain supposedly slept, even though evil never rests, and opened the door just a crack, slipping through without making a sound.

She scoured every drawer and container in the room with no luck, she checked the top of the bed like he would precariously hang something over it like Queen Vanessa did, no luck either. She actually started to feel nervous, her mind had started to create noises to make her think that someone was coming down the hall. It wasn't quite as terrifying as Vanessa's mansion had been, but it was definitely a little suspenseful... strange how both were requested by Snatcher. She giggled at the thought before setting off to look for the book again.

Hat Kid was about to give up when she saw something under the bed. Did she really... forget to check under the bed? Indeed she had, hidden above the bed frame and under the mattresses lay the mysterious book with nothing on it besides a lock for a key. She grabbed it and tried to feel for a key hidden there as well but couldn't find any. She huffed and shrugged, Snatcher will have to deal because he only said to find the book, and she wasn't going to wait here any longer to find the key because for all she knew it was with the captain himself. She opened the door the slightest bit and peered through. Seeing an empty hallway, she began her long and strenuous task of getting back to Snatcher's weird crate.

When she finally got back Snatcher laughed and grabbed the book, somehow managing to phase the book through the crate. "Yes! Thanks kid! What was my end of the deal again?" Hat Kid shook the doubt from her mind, "You would somehow help me with the job I've been thrown at, you didn't say how though..." Snatcher didn't seem to listen, through the dim light she could see that he was eyeing the book excitedly, "So what is the book anyway? Why did you need it so badly?" Snatcher looked like he had gotten slapped out of his trance, but he quickly recovered his narcissistic cover, "Hmm, I think that's none of your business. Our agreement was made and you did your end. Here, have these guys and go but make sure to return them after your work, they're my slaves not yours." Two of the Subcon Minions appeared before her eyes, she smiled and they left Snatcher to his weird book ogling.

Hat Kid did her work much faster and easier with the help of the two Subcon Minions, she finished the day with little more problems. She returned the minions to the unresponsive Snatcher and, feeling a little weirded out from the lack of conversation and interaction, quickly left to her own room. Maybe she would be able to act like an actual passenger of the boat tomorrow instead of an employee.

(A/N Boy howdy that went great. I feel like I made too many turns with how the story's attitude acted but who cares? I'm sorry, I love the Conductor and Snatcher they are my favorite characters and I still made it out to be like I didn't like them T-T. I realize that a lot of these chapters have something about a character being embarrassed or ashamed and I really need to seriously look at myself and criticize myself lol. Okay, so the book is more of a reader-interpretation thing but I myself thought of it as either Snatcher's diary right now, or the Prince's diary that the captain found. I think the Prince's diary works better because why would Snatcher put his diary in a cruise ship. So yeah, my personal interpretation is that the captain found the Prince's diary and is hiding it trying to find the key to unlock it when in reality Snatcher has the key... because you know. Off topic, but my dog is currently walking in and out of my room and it's hilarious. She just kind of goes and lays down on my bed before hearing someone in the kitchen and waiting for me to open my door, then when she finds out who's outside she will walk back to my room and lay on my bed again. I went to the dentist and great, not only am I the problem child when it comes to health like my kidney disease and high blood pressure, I'm also the problem child when it comes to my teeth. I have braces and have two baby teeth that don't have adult teeth so if they fall out I'm going to need those weird implants or whatever, I'm also getting some stuff cut from my gums in two weeks because they're weird and aren't supposed to happen, the dentist took like 20 minutes just to get my new wire on my bottom teeth done because they put two new brackets on me and those two teeth are both crooked in a way that there's like a tiny mark between the tooth and my cheek so they couldn't get the wire in and the last tooth was positioned in such a way that they had to like freaking bend the wire to get it through. And I'm over there with like three people trying to get a stupid wire into my brackets, completely oblivious to what's going on lol. Okay, sorry for that complete run on sentence XD it's just that I couldn't stop to punctuate, I needed to get my thoughts down lol. Seriously though back on topic with A Hat in Time, I've gotten completely obsessed with it but I know like absolutely nothing when it comes to the DLCs but I know every flipping nook and cranny of the main game and storyline! So I'm sorry if I literally got everything about the Seal the Deal DLC wrong, all I know of it is that you're on a cruise ship, Conductor is freaking drinking himself to death or something, his grandchildren are there, you can be like a freaking servant for the captain by doing all of that dishes stuff, you first meet Snatcher and he's in a crate, and there's a captain for the ship. So yeah, that's all I know it's like six little details. Okay I think I've rambled on long enough, Hope you have a good day or night, and I wish you luck on your NaNo if you are doing it!)
