Falling in Love with a Irken (Invader Zim X Reader)

Y/N and Chi walk in the cafeteria. You scan the room and see Zim. He is happily eating your food with a small smile on his face.

"Zim seems to be enjoying my food Chi." You say quietly.

"Of course he does! I made it!"

"true" You let out a small chuckle. Your eyes soon land on dib and you make your way over to him.

"Hi Dib! Sorry I needed to go to the ladies room."

"Ah Y/N, No worries. Please sit. Are you feeling better?" Taking a seat and looking over to him you reply.

"Yes I do thank you. I brought an energy drink today. It'll get me though the day!" You smile at him.

"Good - Say Y/N. I couldn't help noticing that Zim is eating..." He looks intently at Zim.

"It is lunch time, why wouldn't he be?" You stare over to Zim and watch him eat.

"Zim never eats! I have never seen him eat a single thing that didn't instantly make him throw up."

"Really? Well sorry to break it to you Dib but the school food is disgusting. I want to throw up just looking at it." With that you pull out a similar container that Zim was holding and start eating away at your sweet lunch.

"He must be up to something. Where did he get that food? Sure the school food is gross but it shouldn't instantly make you throw up!" He practically yells.

And as if on cue, a child nearby grabs his food and stuffs it in his gross mouth and then seconds later throws up all over the cafeteria table.

You giggle at the irony and just continue to eat.

"And with the food he is eating. I gave it to him." You motion Dib to the container you are eating from.

"What!? Why would you help that Alien!? You know he is trying to destroy the earth?"

You just shrug. "Meh"

"What do you mean Meh?! Zim is evil I'll prove it!" He gets up and you follow.

"ZIM!" Dib walks over to a happy Zim.

Zim Looks up and his smile instantly disappears. "Dib-Stink. What do you want? Can't you tell that Zim is being a perfect normal HUUMAN eating their lunch?" He briefly looks at you and his eyes soften. However that was short lived when he looked back at Dib.

"Ill prove to Y/N and everyone here that you are an alien! What are you planning to do?!" Something must have snapped in Dib because he pushed Zim rather harshly and knocked him on to ground including the food I gave him.

Your role as an observer has ended because you step in front of Zim and lose your shit.

"DIB WHAT THE HELL? WHY WOULD YOU PUSH SOMEONE TO THE GROUND AND RUIN THIEIR LUNCH?! YOU SAID ZIM WAS EVIL BUT YOU SEEM TO BE THE EVIL ONE HERE!" He just looks at you shocked. You pinch your forehead and continue a bit calmer this time. "You pull my hair and practically stalk Zim. Then you push him on the floor plus the food! The Poor Food. That was a lot of effort you know?!" You turn around and see that Zim seems to be ok.

"Y/N I'm Sorry its just Zim is an Alien -"

"Dib let me make this clear. I don't care if Zim is an Alien or not."

"What?!" Both Zim and Dib said in unison.

"What I am trying to say is that Zim has been a way better person to be around than you have. You're just a Jerk!" You whip around to see Zim. He is just looking at you silently. You hand him your food.

"Zim I'm sorry you didn't have a chance to finish your food. Please take mine." You place the food container on the floor next to him.

You then turn around and head straight for the exit of the Cafeteria.

Dib and Zim just look at each other sad and confused. Well....not really Zim. He's happy because he still gets to eat his food and not be humiliated by Dib.

Y/N goes back to the classroom and waits for class to start.

"That boy seems moody. He is the guy that pulled your hair?" Chi asked with his small head popping out.

"Yes that's him. Zim taking over the world? I mean he can try. But does really tormenting Zim solve any problems? No. No it doesn't" You cross your arms.

"Yea what a jerk!" Chi starts pounding his fists together as if he is ready to jump and beat someone up.

**Ring**

The whole class rolls in and Chi goes back into the bag.

Dib and Zim both take their seat.

"Ok Class, we have lost funding for textbooks so today you will be given wildlife survival guides..." She starts teaching the lesson about starting fires and setting up camp.

"Psst. Y/N....Y/N.....Y/N?" Dib keeps bothering you but you are giving him the worst punishment possible. The silent treatment.

You just look away as if you are paying attention to Ms. Bitters.

"Im sorry. You don't know Zim like I do."

Silent.

"He will destroy you to you know."

How does he know that?

Silent.

"Fine. But don't go crawling to me when he ruins the planet and destroys earth." He is clearly annoyed from the silent treatment.

Silent.

About 20 minutes go by.

"Im still sorry"

Silent.

**Ring**

Thank God school is over! Im just about ready to go home and relax!

You make sure to get up from your seat and NOT make any eye contact with Dib.

As you make your way outside you notice the storm clouds outside. Shrugging, you get out your umbrella and start heading home.

**Home Time.**

"Finally. Im home." You let out a long sigh and open your bag to let out Chi. "Chi I will be in my lab. please leave me be unless I call for you."

"Yes my Master!" Chi states and runs off to do who knows what.

"Computer. Take me to my Lab." You cross your arms and the floor beneath you collapses and brings you into a large lab. You put your lab coat on and work on some experiments and cures.

Zim...I hope I didn't scare him from yelling. he's just so cute and the look on his face when he looked at you...Ah no! Get out of my head!

You spend the rest of the night working away on important experiments and trying to keep your head from thinking about the two boys.
